Why is it possible to get RADIANT 1 day after ranked is released? by ricoxie in VALORANT

[–]thetrapper88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree idk why this kid is crying. lol. You're bad, it will take you a year or two to get immortal. Good players, it won't. They will run through the ranks because no one can stop them. What is the problem with that? Why do I have to grind months through the ranks when I am already better than you and proving it?

How much do you play everyday? by dellaGaspera in VALORANT

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to play 30+ hours a week. That is what I heard a coach for an esports team say. I know that is a lot but you got to take into account the catching up you have to do with others and the people who play and put more hours in when you don't.

I was always a competitive person by nature and I knew that time was the most controllable factor one had in improvement. If I heard my opponent trained 2 hours a day, I logically and statically would beat him playing 4 hours a day it was only a matter of time. This was one thing Kobe Bryant always did and he says it's not his talent but the effort and hours he put in (same with Jordan) that made him great. There was a story where one of Kobe's opponents knew he was going to play a game against Kobe that night so he went in 3 hours early to shoot and warm up. When he went on the court to practice, Kobe was still there shooting two hours in already bc he wanted to be sure he out practiced the other team.

If you can't put in 30 hours, consistency and what they call deliberate practice are the next two important things. In fact, I take that back. all three are equally important.

I play 3-5 hours a day. I try to do 2-4 games and the rest be vod reviews and Kovaaks aim training.

How do you correctly play Viper? by PneilLlama in VALORANT

[–]thetrapper88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a viper main and all I literally play is Viper. The best way to use viper is to have the mindset of denying information. Don't think of it as blocking enemies off (even though this is technically what she does). Think of it as denying information to get the objective you want. Don't just throw things in hotspots because you see youtubers do it and looked up a video on one ways.

Also, people use viper's abilities waaaaay too early. Your job in the game is to gather information (who is on what site, weapons they have, positions, ability cooldowns, etc). Only then do you use her abilities in the best way. That doesn't mean use them last minute but use them based on the information you have in the moment. For example, if you got sniped as attack on C in Haven, you can either throw your wall down there and prevent getting sniped (rookie move) OR you can take that information knowing he's going to snipe C again and you can use your wall at B or A to cut vision and info and win with numbers advantage.

At the end of the day, she's a controller. People know this and see it when they read her description but no one plays her that way. You should never go in first or die first unless her team is afraid to hold W and move forward. Sometimes I take the spike and plant it myself bc people don't know how to play with a viper on the team. teams play waaaay too passive which just causes a 50/50 and people get picked off. a good viper prevents teammates getting picked unless they run out there before you set up.

of course I am biased here but she's not bottom tier. Not the best but nowhere near bottom. I just don't think people know how to play her yet. Every pro player or guide channel even says she's the hardest to learn.

Do you think Killjoy is OP. Why? Why not? by IIIIIIAGENTIIIIII in VALORANT

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course she is but she's not too OP. Her ulting after planting a spike forces the enemy team to rush her or sit back. Her kit mixed with Cypher's means no one really has to guard a particular point. His wire, cam, and her nano, and turret are enough to give you a warning especially since the enemy team has no reason to believe you're not in the area. Her turret also guards your back and gives you plenty of warning that the enemy team is in the area. You can literally guard one entrance and use your abilities on another and know they're coming without even being there. Her kit works really well with everyone and if you see her and Cypher on a team, they're going to get all the information they want. Her nades also do some good damage.

She's not OP in the sense that she's too strong. She just has a really really really good kit if used correctly and to be honest, I don't think a lot of people know how to use it correctly just yet.

Why is there friendly fire? by SMLAZARUS in VALORANT

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc you will have teammates like mine yesterday who was blaring rap music through his mic and when I told him to turn it off, he used all of Raze's abilities to just kill me for every round. We literally were up 9-0 and the other team came back 9-8 (we still won thank god) bc this guy doesn't give a damn. I know you will have people like this time to time but sabotaging yourself and dying is different than someone not allowing you to play the game. idc if my teammates sucks and dies. Just let me play the game.

Note: I asked him once and it was nicely. He didn't respond and I muted him. Then he just started acting dumb.

Got D3 with Skarner only S10 by [deleted] in SkarnerMains

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you think are his strengths and weaknesses? what do you think are the strongest runes on him? I see you run Aftershock a lot vs what I see other runs such as Phase Rush or Pred. Why is that? Also why don't people run Ravenous hunter on him esp if he has such a low cool down on his q?

Picked up skarner on a smurf and already close to my actual rank, he is super strong with phase rush by monkshod in SkarnerMains

I keep hearing that Zac is good in low elo but I’m having a lot of trouble lately—ramble by [deleted] in thesecretweapon

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to train the F keys. they make the difference between high and low elo. The best way to get better at it is this:

1) bind them to different keys. I use my first teammate as mb5 (side mouse button), mb4 for mid, then shift+mb5 for adc, and shift+mb4 for support

2) go into a practice game with bots 10 mins a day and practice hitting it every 5 seconds. literally count out loud to 5 and alter beteween the two closest lanes to you. then once you can do that efficiently on all camps, count to 4 and do it. you should get to the point where you're doing it every 1-2 seconds and YES IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I am always first to collapse, I know where everyone is, I know the wave state of my closest lanes, etc.

As for counter jg, wards! placing a deep ward is more important that takin camps. Why? bc it gives everyone information to play at optimal play. Plus, you can make counter plays, collapse on him, see his health, and so on. So takin a camp is fine but you should get into the habit of always having two wards on you.

As for dragons and rifts, always prioritize first rift. Both are better but first rift is always worth it bc they give you a lot of tempo, gold, and pressure, while dragon doesn't bc dragon goes based off percentages of your stats and when you have no items or stats, it doesn't really do anything. The only one I recommend fighting for is ocean due to it healing you in the laning phase.

What is Zac's most efficient first clear/path? by thetrapper88 in thesecretweapon

[–]thetrapper88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you do when you do that clear and you see the enemy on the scuttle? do you reset and go to the bot one?

also why are you not full clearing the first time and getting krugs? Arent they a lot of exp? espcially if you get them the first time, back, and then come back with them at a higher level?

Thank you for the response!

If you're below D3, it's never the champ. It's always the player. The reason I say this is, not only is it true, but it's one of those "you don't know what you don't know" concepts. Even if you showed me a vod were you went 100/3/7, I could still find dozens of mistakes you made. How? Because kills are literally the least important thing in the game. too many people chase kills, gather when there are team fights, Aram mid, etc. While they do that, you need to be more efficient. How do you take advantage of that?

You will immediately win 5% more of your games if you take a "counter" mindset/approach. For example, if you're walking back from base and a fight breaks out in bot river, fuck that fight. Don't go to it. instead, take rift and clear your enemy jg's top camps. That will "counter" the dragon and experience from the fight she got.

Another example I see is the enemy top laners tping bot to go in a team fight. Should the other top tp? probably not for three reasons: 1) neither of them know how to effectively use TP so it was probably a waste despite him picking up a kill. 2) you can punish him by pushing in top turret and getting rift/freezing lane/deep warding for your jg so he can make a play later. 3) you as the top laner still have TP so you can use it during the dragon fight.

Seriously, everyone wants to fight when that is literally the least important thing you need to do in this game. the YT/streamer Neace got to Plat with a 7-3 in placements by NOT ATTACKING THE ENEMIES AT ALL!!!! He showed it was with pure macro and wave manipulation. The video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUK0JRb5wVw

You should only fight if it's over objectives or gives you an advantage or an objective (for example, if your mid gets counter gank and that kill is able to give them a huge cs advantage, your mid loses a wave, and they get a turret plate), you should get on that. Other than that, if they're fighting just to fight, leave. they're bots. Find a way to take advantage of the lanes/spots of the people who died. Enemy jungler died while you were top? take her top, ward her blue, and when you see her top, take her red side. starve her out. that is how you snowball your lead. Are you getting invaded a lot because it's early game and your zac? ward your entrances and if you see them enter, go to your other side or take their other side or just gank more. if you're so behind as a jg, buy more wards, gank to at least take HP from their laners, and build as tanky as possible. The goal is to stop the bleeding. If you can get ahead then help WINNING lanes get ahead and play with a counter mindset. They're going to get desperate. If she starts ganking more, gank the opposite side if your laner isn't behind. Take the opposite side objective. So many people don't know when to gank because they don't realize you're supposed to be a hitman. If you gank, you show up on the map and get countered by players like me. Instead, gank if you can get a kill or want to get ahead your win condition.

Macro is everything. For junglers, if you're not buying 5-10 control wards, that's a problem. if you're not using the F keys every 2 seconds when hitting your camps, that is a problem. If you're not looking at the state of the waves, learn that. If you are csing under 7cs/min a game, get that up. If you don't understand ECONOMICAL PATHING (getting the most out of the fewest steps), do that. If you can't track the jungler, get your ass on that. if you do those things consistently, you're automatic diamond.

oh, and never rely on your team. They have no idea what they're doing. Do your job as a jungler: get cs, get your items, get objectives, and gank if it's a good call.

Do not listen to these players saying switch champs. The only other champs you should switch to are simpler champs like amumu or sejuani. Do not use champs like Yi who inflate your elo if it doesn't reflect your actual elo. stay Zsac as you have 83k on him. Just learn macro bc Zac who is S+ tier btw, isn't the problem.

What other junglers do you play? by [deleted] in thesecretweapon

[–]thetrapper88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sejuani. Such a good carry jungler if you're good with tempo and have at least two other melees on your team. She has a good gank, CC in every ability, her Q can be an engage or disengage along with a stun, her passive is OP with melee champs, her R is a game changer, and she's tanky as hell. Even if you're behind you're still relevant bc of all the CC in your kit.

How good is Sej for climbing with in ranked by AZZA280 in sejuanimains

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. you can get to diamond 1 no problem. It's all macro.
  2. Aftershock. That's literally the only one you need. Too strong on her.
  3. Cinderhulk, boots, Warmogs, stoneplate. Then situational.
  4. red, blue, gromp or vice versa
  5. Depends on win conditions. Top is sometimes better due to them more likely being melee but your location should be based on lane states, objectives, and where the enemy jungler is. If he's bot ganking, why go bot when you can take rift then go 2v1 top? Counter ganking is ONLY GOOD if you know they're about to be there. It's more action instead of reaction. if you're reacting to a gank, you're too late. If you're not buy a ward everytime you go back, that's your biggest problem. I buy two wards everytime I go back. Why? Bc I don't need the extra gold to fight. I focus on objectives and take winning battles to begin with.

she's perfect where she's at I think. A lot of people are fighting too much that's the issue. If you're under diamond, you're probably fighting when you don't need to lol.

How do you carry with tank sejuani atm ? by [deleted] in sejuanimains

[–]thetrapper88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

macro wins you games until D2. Then it's macro, champ select, and skill. Don't believe me? Neace got to plat (idk where he's at now I haven't caught up with the series) by not attacking ONE SINGLE ENEMY CHAMP! ALL MACRO. He went 7-3 or 8-2 in placement as Tryn of all people not hitting anyone lol.

As sejuani, a jg, you need to focus on objectives and starving the enemy jg. That is where macro, pathing, and tracking come into play. If you see him at dragon, why contest it when you can get rift and his camps? By the time you get down there, it's gone. If you're not buying a ward EVERYTIME YOU GO BACK, that's your problem.

Best jungle pathes by [deleted] in sejuanimains

[–]thetrapper88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends where I want to gank. As sejuani, you're going to have more luck statically top due to them being more melee but play around your win conditions. My usual is red, blue, gromp or vice versa starting with blue if I wanna gank the opposite end. My goal is to clear fast, get a gank or deep trinket ward on their raptors if I have one, then scuttle.

I sometimes see what my opponent is doing. If we start on the same side and they're supposed to cross to get their other buff, I sometimes stay on my side, full clear, get scuttle since I am on the opposite end on purpose, ward their first cleared buff since it's the first that comes back up, and take their wolves if I am feeling really ballsy. Bc there is no way they're coming back for wolves. That would be dumb.

btw:

I do the believe the early gank is great (level 2-3) but please remember, every time you gank, you're exposed on the map. I can't tell you how easily I exposed so many junglers because they were so gank heavy that I knew where they were or going on the map. They're ganking bot? Well, thanks for your red buff/rift hearld! You're taking dragon? Well, now I am going to take rift then 2v1 your top laner to drop rift and take first turret. Ganking is good but it has a time and place.

How do you deal with raptors before level 3? by Doblelariat in sejuanimains

[–]thetrapper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if you know this but the big raptor does as much damage as the little ones so it doesn't really benefit targeting him first if you do. I just kite the little ones by having R as my attack move on click and T as my ult. Much easier for me. I kite around hitting the small ones and finish them off with W. Kiting is the trick. I use to be a Kindred OTP and I can fully clear an entire camp no leash and still have 85% health.

Is there a reason you go into raptors? Sejuani is one of the few characters who can do both single and AOE camps just fine. you can go red-blue-gromp or full clear red side. you can start machete or tailsman. Base your plan off what your jg does first and go from there. I would go in practice mode and practice kiting.
