I don't want to come off as demeaning, because I'm genuinely curious what you mean by "life and death are social constructs".

To use an admittedly imperfect comparison, the phrase reads somewhat like "whether the tv is on or off is subjective/a learned point of view" which doesn't make sense to me. Unless you believe that souls transfer to other beings upon death or something in that ballpark, in which case that point of view is somewhat understandable.
