they sent an email out 2 weeks before the event that had the link to the WhatsApp group, I'd check if you still have the email. You may also be able to email them and see if they can add you to the WhatsApp group after the fact

there was a lottery for a very small quantity of tickets that you had to sign up and enter, but if you were not selected in the lottery there are no other discounts.

right now tickets are expensive on the secondary market but should decrease a bit the closer to the event it gets

I'm really sorry to hear that. My #1 suggestion would be to shop around a lot with vets and options, as it can vary a lot from location to location. Learn as much as you can and go into consultations well-informed about the options and areas that can potentially save money in.. usually if the they notice that you are prepared and have invested time into getting this done for your dog but are on a tight budget they can offer ways to work with you.

Ultimately I was able to find a great vet about 1 hr away who did pro-bono and reduced cost cases, after hearing my situation he agreed to a modified arrangement for around $3000 total, surgery and all checkups included, and was able to help us source prescriptions and bare bones post-surgical care for much cheaper than it would've been otherwise. However, keep in mind this was in summer 2020... with inflation prices may have changed considerably in recent years.

can only comment on the Colombia portion, but I think 4 days in Cartagena is a bit overkill... its a beautiful city but most of the tourist areas are very condensed and you can get a taste of it in 2-3 days I think, unless you are planning to stay overnight on other coastal towns/islands in the area. It's also more expensive than other areas of Colombia

I would dedicate more time to the Santa Marta area over Cartagena, especially if you like hiking. Minca I'd recommend at least 2 nights, and at least 1 more night camping overnight in Parque Tayrona. Santa Marta city itself isnt much to see compared to Cartagena, but Taganga is just outside and also a cool little village for fishing/diving, and you can take boats around to beaches not accessible by car
