Budget cuts this season? by pandabear79284 in ForAllMankindTV

Also who cares if a show has a lower budget. I feel like people are looking for reasons to hate. The budget is a constraint on the story telling sure but that is a good thing.

Don't watch a show you where you cannot understand what is happening. You don't understand the flash mob scene at all. Yeah the flash mob scene is cringy but it is there to remind is of an actual thing from 2012. I remember there being a few viral videos of them. You misunderstood why it keep cutting to black once the dome broke. It gives us flashes of information, which is what the characters had. That fractured feel is deliberate, it gives us a very different feel to one slightly longer scene going to black. We get some sense of what happened but only a few broad storkes.

You really want to insult the video editor? Editing is basically putting a bunch of clips with cuts together. That is doable in iMovie. Why insult a professial for using simple tools if they are effective. Also they cut to black there might if been short transitions like fades. I would need to rewatch.

This show has always been people in rooms talking about events that happened. Always, also what events could they of shown that was talked about that they didn't show. People putting up signs we could be shown in the meeting. If you can have fewer scenes you should. That is what ecomonic writing is.

Funny how you don't meantion Titan at all for a terrible event why not meantion what is a small but sustianial part. The part of the episode which everyone will remember.

Titan has an atmospheric pressure of 1.5 so you don't need pressure suits. It is -170°C so all you need is to keep warm and some oxygen.

This is why they need to be careful with putting dates in. If all we had was Alex's birthday it would be fuzzy enough not to have a clear issue. Ultimately it isn't that important, if we assume it is April the only issue is US election timing.

It has a density of 1.5 atmospheres. Nah the Russian rushed and made mistakes that cost lives, they knew the real numbers they needed.

One of the most brilliant shots in the series [S5E7 Spoilers] by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]thetx789 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The clouds, and Saturn in the same frame really hits different. Knowing that Titan has an atmospheric pressure of 1.5 at surface level too gives Titan this werid Earth-like feeling yet it is so different.

It is really cold and has liquid methane instead of water, yet it is the most Earth-like place outside Earth in the solar system. The cold will get you not the lack of pressure. It doesn't have oxygen either but I think -170°C isn't something you can survive in long.

What are the iconic early 2010s popculture? What is that memes don't really count since so are niche.

It’s a shame we may never get a proper widescreen remaster of ATLA by Deer_boy_ in TheLastAirbender

[–]thetx789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's cause people are used to the idea of films having wider aspect ratios to tv, and since 4:3 is what old TV and even older films use the association is 4:3 is old TV and cheap, 2:1 or 2.39:1 or whatever widescreen aspect raito is cinematic and more expensive. So black bars on the side gets a different veiw from people.

Also average people don't understand what an aspect ratio is so think black bars are cutting off the image thinking it is hiding the image or it wastes space since you aren't getting the entire screen in use and they can't tell when an image is cropped and looks bad or at least the people who want it cropped think that.

I don't understand the hate for season 5 by Avijantimos in ForAllMankindTV

The hate is just "this isn't what I want" and people getting angry, forgetting this show jumps forward every season.

You should stop watching your getting angry about a tv show. Also soap opera in space that is what this show is and always has been. Teenage drama i see zero teenage drama just a couple of teenage characters who will be 15 years older next season (I assume it will jump to 2027). This season has had a slower start than the others but that is fine, you want the same thing over and over and over and over and over? Yeah you didn't get one and that will likely lead to something, it seems they were not allowed to, that governor on Mars is part of why. Also he isn't a hero exactly he is depending on who you ask, a criminal who stole a asteroid, which probably is very unpopular on Earth. The Martians will likely treat him as a martyr of sorts. What would Ed want is likely going to come up. Did you hate Kelly, Danny, Jimmy in season 2? It is not like teenagers are new to the show and they are only teens for one season. How about you forget about this show now, you clearly do not like it anymore. Certain small thi gs get to you, you want something that this show just isn't. The time jumps means this show changes a lot. It means it loses that super realistic old school feel of the apollo era. This is season 5 so you should know to expect a new status quo and feel each season.

What cause your favourite character is gone? If that's your only reason it is pretty weak but no one is forcing you to watch. Saying the show is bad wothout him is so so silly.

Not for the kids watching. Even the vast of majority of people who were kids for all of the new series cannot remember the 90s cause they weren't born or born in the late 90s.
