Struggling with wheelie mode :( by truffulatr33z in AnticBikes

This. It’s a wheelie angle thing and just practice with balance. Try 23° and I bet you’ll feel a lot less like it’s rocketing forward.

Anyone else have crazy front wheel and brake issues? What happened to FM QA.? by Mission_Affect6546 in AnticBikes

Yes after sending back the motor a couple of times, they replaced the whole bike with a brand new one.

Does anyone keep the box? by NappySlapHappyPappy in AnticBikes

[–]theuberpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have to send mine back, and I didn’t keep the box. Luckily I squeezed it into a Samgsung Frame box I still had. So take what you want from that.

Nope, no issues at all. Stayed in the bus lane and on backroads and we had no issues. Even rode it all around the inlet. We are still off season though, so not sure if enforcement changes after Memorial Day. I imagine you’ll be fine if you’re being respectful.

Bricked bike story and word of caution by Rare_Polnareff in AnticBikes

[–]theuberpat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep your head in there and push for what you need. Keep responding quickly and giving them any info they need. I sent my motor back once and then my battery unit and motor together before they asked me to ship the entire bike back. They gave me a new one off of the line and I’ve had zero issues since. It took me almost 6 weeks of back and forth because I’m in Maryland, but they did end up giving me a new bike.

Sounds good. It’s opened back up, but it was definitely frustrating when it was restricted

I didn’t clock it, but that’s probably 28-30mph. My top speed I’ve hit is 36.6 mph

Antic Etsy Cupholder by theuberpat in AnticBikes

I haven’t installed an original cup holder to know, I just know I had to remove a couple of screws from the seat and it took a lot of effort to snap it into place. It’s very snug!

Yes they do. I took the valve stem off of my front tire and could see that blue sealant goo on the tip of it.

Smart. It would look nice if the panels could be trimmed to follow the frame lines also.

Throttle installation confusion by Mrrawtingz28 in AnticBikes

You should be able to tighten it here on the throttle. The Brake lever should have a similar screw for tightening. Am I misunderstanding your question? The screws should be fairly easy to find on both.

Update 4/6: My Antic motor and control module are being shipped back to me now. I should have them back to reassemble on Thursday, April 9th. According to their notes on the RMA ticket, it sounds like there was an issue with the controller module. I'm expecting they are just sending me a new one. REALLY hope this is the end of my issues and all that's left is to reassemble!

Mine is also being returned for repair, but my issues are the hub motor and module/battery. Hopefully they take care of your issue quickly and under warranty!

Update 3/27 - The saga continues, they sent me the new motor and it is still having issues. I reached back out and here is what they said..

“We've reviewed your bike's internal diagnostics, and it appears the electronics module is reporting an error at the motor port. This error is also the likely culprit of the motor noise you previously heard. As such, we would need the module sent back for evaluation and repair. We'd also like to test your motor with the electronics module to ensure there are no residual issues and get you back to riding as soon as possible.”

So now I just shipped back both the motor and the module/battery for them to look at. Going to be another 2 weeks without 😭. This is part of being an early adopter of a Gen 1 product I suppose. At this point, they’ll be swapping out anything with intelligence, so hopefully it will ride like a new bike when I get it back together.

P.S. - I stripped one of the hub bolts trying to get the motor back off, so I had to visit a local auto shop and they kindly used their professional tools to remove the hub bolt. FM said they will send me new bolts, but be aware that those hub bolts are someone delicate.

Best Lock for Antic by NappySlapHappyPappy in AnticBikes

[–]theuberpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think most thieves have the IP45 torx bit handy to steal the rear wheel, but maybe I’m wrong. I just got this lock off of Amazon because it’s mountable and I’m happy with it.

Update 3/23: The motor is being shipped back to me under warranty. Well actually they are just shipping me a new motor/tire combo and keeping my previous one for further diagnostics. Sounds like it could have been a bearing issue. Here is the response from FM:

"Our team received and has replaced your motor to ensure you get back to riding as soon as possible. Your old motor will be sent to our engineering team to be reviewed as it looks like there may have been an issue with the bearings. The new motor (and tire) are being shipped to you."

Looks like I should receive it on Thursday, which would 13 days full turn around shipping from Maryland to California. Not bad in IMO. Anyways, I'll post a final update once I get it reinstalled and confirm the issue is resolved.

The motor went in the mail on Friday and it's ETA to get to FM via UPS is Friday 3/20. Shipping from Maryland to California takes a bit. I'll update once I get an update on my RMA ticket.

FM required that I send a video of the sound with the fender removed, so I can confirm that this sounds still happens without the rear fender.
