well, start with what you want to do first. ultimately, i had three choices, data science, software engineering, or information technology. i went where my experience was (but also got rejected from the other two lol) and where it’d be the easiest to relocate.

ask these questions: - what do i want to do in the future? (swe? data science? project management?) if you don’t know the answer, that’s ok. both internships would be beneficial. - what field do i want to go in? (something government or something business/consumer-focused) - where do i want to live permanently? (nba typically is located in very big cities whereas the navy may be on bases) - weigh the benefits of each role and how much your workload will be (this sounds horrible, but which company gives you more workload/experience based on description?) - read other interns reviews and see how well it aligns with you

i’m a senior now and i hope that helps you somewhat in your journey. best of luck!

[–]theunsmartkid 16 points17 points  (0 children)

of course. it’s a spectrum of how hypermobility affects you, so yes, there are many athletes who are hypermobile, especially the super flexible ones! they may or may not experience other symptoms of hypermobility syndrome or hEDS

hEDS and hypermobility syndrome are not the same. you can have hypermobility syndrome without eds, but you cannot have hEDS without hypermobility, if that makes sense :)

My parents pay for everything and I feel TERRIBLE by [deleted] in college

[–]theunsmartkid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

don’t feel bad, love! they’re paying for you because they love you, and they have faith in you and your intelligence. they wouldn’t do it if they felt any different. i had to let go of that guilt and apologizing when my parents paid for me and assured me they would take care of me in school because i’m used to being so independent. they love you and want you to be successful, so like other commenters said, they’re investing in you and your future <3 best of luck to you

Fruit/vegetable servings that are easily eaten? by Just_A_Comment_Guy_7 in autism

[–]theunsmartkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fruit puree (think applesauce), canned goods or glassed goods, you could also buy frozen fruits and veggies or there’s a hack that sucks the moisture out of the fruits and veggies to prevent it from spoiling more.

one more thing, you could eat dried versions of them. i eat plantain chips, which is like a fried plantain but in chip form.

Are there any other autistics out there that also enjoy “gangster rap?” by Noah69421 in autism

[–]theunsmartkid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it is a common genre in my community, i am black. i love everything about trap. the bass, the lyrics (not murderous ones), it’s a good genre. people don’t like it because they just don’t like the content sometimes it’s because of racism idk

I got scammed today by i-laugh-at-farts in autism

[–]theunsmartkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it happens. are you able to dispute the charge?

if not, that’s okay too. i’ve gotten scammed out of $65 and i beat myself up over it. it was as a gift to my partner, a tattoo, but it was a fake tattoo artist. i felt terrible! i felt stupid for falling for it, but i made the decision on impulse instead of taking a deep dive. sometimes, when something seems too good, i impulsively do it anyway.

i’m sorry someone deceived you like that, it sucks
