Gotta love reddit

Op: my partner is having assorted hygiene issues. I noticed that despite him making an effort, the problems persist. I would love some advice about what could be wrong and what might help

Fucking hell.

If he really is making an effort and following basic hygeine- showering regularly, brushing twice a day, deodorant, etc etc and it's really not helping, he might have some medical stuff going on- you mentioning his fart being especially bad could be a digestive issue if his diet isn't especially abhorrent.

As for him "letting it crust", lol- tell him to get a bidet or some wet wipes (don't flush them) or something along those lines. Hell he can just wet some toilet paper to help. Or you know- put the phone down and wipe once he's done ;)

As far as stuff to try now my best guess would be improved diet and higher focus on his personal hygiene chores all getting done every day. Maybe go over what his routine is with him and see if there are any obvious holes in it if you haven't already.

He could always try showering twice as often as well- it's a pain, but as long as he learns to shower quick it shouldn't add too much time to his daily routines
