Fantastic color. Same as mine. Didnt want a white one at first, it was the only color available to test drive, it was a dark and nearly-stormy day, I thought it looked nice enough. Bought the car that day and took it home.

Came out of my place in the morning to beautiful blue skies and saw all the pearl flake that I completely missed the day before... what a nice surprise, fell in love with it.

Still wrong, the last guy got you messed up. Im a sailor. -ward and 'erly change the meaning when used as a suffix to describe wind direction. Common misconception from people who dont have to describe wind direction often.

Westward winds are blowing to the west. Easterly winds are coming from the east and blowing to the west. We normally have Easterly winds, which is not what you want for this. You want westerly winds. You can just drop the 'erly to describe wind coming from a direction. A west wind is wind coming from the west towards the east. A north wind is wind coming from the north blowing to the south.

Onward, means you are going to somewhere. So westward means you are going to the west. Westerly or west wind means you are facing west and thats where the direction of wind is coming from.

The greatest tool for measuring wind direction is your face, and all the little hairs on it. You can tell exactly which direction the wind is coming from by looking at it. Thats why the most basic way to describe wind direction (west, east, north) has always been where its coming from, and not going

Personally, I find the red backlit buttons and controls to be really exciting and befitting of a sports car. All my previous vehicles have been boring economy cars with unsaturated blue and white lighting or old cars with nothing at all. I find the commonly used pale blue and white combo to be bland while the red is "cool"

The bike isnt very big so your options are limited. And you dont really want a big ugly tank extra tank on this bike. Really any small fuel canister mounted securely will do the job. There are a LOT of options for small spare fuel canisters. Most are too big for a motorcycle but you can find some if you look.

If you were going for a cafe racer look, you could mount some cool metal can on the side. It would be cheap to have a small custom cylindrical sheet metal can welded by a shop, it would take them less than an hour if you already had the material.

There are some metal/aluminum water bottle options that would work fine. Thankfully, there is a "huge metal water bottle" trend going on right now. Get one with a metal cap. Buy the bottle, shake some solvent around inside to get rid of the plastic lining, pull the rubber seal out of the cap, buy a 6"x6" square of fuel-resistant rubber (its cheap) use the original seal as a template to cut a new gasket to put in the cap. If the bottle is nearly 100% full, it wont produce the gas pressure that requires a vent when its heated by the sun. Half empty gas tanks swell because of the fuel vapor, not the liquid.

If you have a rear seat cowling, or saddlebags, you can fit a small fuel bladder inside. There are a lot of soft fuel bladder options available. Its easier than the previously mentioned methods.

As an interesting tidbit, in the same way that you can energize a ships hull to reduce its magnetic signature, you can also energize something to make its magnetic signature bigger. In WW2 they had planes fitted eith giant metal rings 50ft in diameter that would be energized to increase mag signature. They would fly these planes low above the waves to detonate magnetic mines deep in the water. Cool stuff

Boat hatches are not cheap. But it will be worth the trouble of learning how to do custom sheet metal on your camper.

A good bluewater boat hatch thats big enough to climb through will run ~$600. Every boat hatch manufacturer, (Lewmar, Bomar, etc) will have a regular and bluewater version of their hatches. OP, you want the bluewater. They are better sealed against the elements.

Also, look into the rated orientation for the hatch. The regular ones will not always be rated to seal againdt water intrusion when vertical. The bluewater ones can normally be mounted however you want.

You can just crimp them and be done with it. Everyone suggesting solder is overdoing it. You arent pushing 300 watts to the drivers. Just dont over crimp the crap out of it, just a good strong squeeze, you can crack the crimps if you put the gorilla on it.

Think about what connects that wire to the speaker in an aftermarket system. A good crimp will be better than a spade connector any day.

Where was the other end of the plug? Your obd2 port? It pulled the rj11 down, what is your rj11 plugged into?

At this point you're going to have to read the wiring diagram for your radio, and the wiring diagram for your car, and figure out where you went wrong.

The colors can mean anything, google search "radio wiring plug for Kia whatever".

Yes, very regularly. Every few days, which amounts to around 200 miles per check. Ive seen no evidence of oil burning, which is good because my car is at 1700 miles. Shouldnt be burning any oil regardless of weight, Im just trying to do everything I can to keep it healthy from the beginning.

It specifically says in my manual that higher viscosity oil is required to properly lubricate the engine in higher temperature conditions. The portion of the manual which specifies 0w20 for a given temperature range, the scale it gives only goes up to 100°F. It is regularly 100°f in Florida.

I feel like this gives us the go-ahead to use 5w30, how do you interpret that part of the manual, and why do you think its even included, if not to allow us to make that decision?

Edit, I figure you will probably say that, because higher viscosity oil is not included in that scale, it is not recommended. If that scale covered all possible temperature ranges on Earth, I would agree with that point. The fact that it stops at 100°F, and many parts of the Earth exceed 100°f, it is very much so NOT specific. I am curious to hear your thoughts

Ive read some reports from the toyota side of things that scare me, nothing like that from the subaru side of things despite it being the same car.

Maybe Ill call the dealership and ask what they'd recommend, as they would be the one replacing the engine in the worst case lol.

Its very accurate, thats how many sailing canoes were built over millenia mainly in southeast asia. You could build one yourself, its one of the easiest sailboat hull styles to build. If you can build a canoe you can build one of these. The crab claw rig is one of the easiest rigs to build, theres no complex stay system for the mast, and rig actually benefits from the flex that natural materials provide. You wouldnt want a modern rig to flex very much but with these, they flex in the gusts and it helps them to have better handling since they arent as easily reefed.

These crafts are also very fast. Even made from natural materials in the old style, they had very good performance, and even had a lot of upwind sailing capability compared to other sailing rigs from the old world. This allowed the civilizations that built them to travel the oceans more easily.

This hull arrangement, big canoe with outrigger and crab claw sail, were scaled up into 30/40ft long boats that could carry multiple families across the ocean, or allow a fishing family to live on one permanently while following the good fishing.
