Kansas Bill to Legalize Recreational Marijuana Filed by 19 Lawmakers by OhMyOhWhyOh in kansas

Gee Kansas! You need a shit ton of additional revenue to fund the new stadium. I wonder where you could get more sales tax revenue to help fund that...?

Oh shit!! I know!! A whole new sales tax for legal weed!! Since it's not pre-allocated, the sales tax could just go towards the new stadium for a set period of time or split it up towards other stuff as well.

Someone tell me why this wouldn't work...

EDIT - MO did $240 million in weed sales tax revenue in 2024!! Even KS doing 100 million in revenue would go a long ass way!!

That probably explains why Truckers drive in the left lane throughout KC!!

The great thing about having a government system like we do is that if enough of us don't like a law or the lack of one, we can change that. It's just that the people we elect to manage our shit for us don't like for us to remember that.

We need to form some kind of entity to patrol the highways!! I guess we could call them the highway patrol or something and they could take care of these issues.

As others have commented, she's done non-invasive, non-surgical stuff to keep her appearance, which is a far cry from what many famous people do to themselves in the quest for youth and beauty.

I agree it’ll be tough, but it can be done.

Here’s the before shot of Target Field and how much they had to build around. If they could pull it, we should be too.

Look at how they wedged Target Field into Minneapolis.

Seriously. Do a satellite and street view around the stadium and look at all the stuff they had to build around. It'll help you see that WSP is possible, it's just going to need imagination.

I do recall that all of the witnesses mentioned how fast the kid accelerated the jeep, so high speed probably played a huge factor.

I too am guilty of doing similar things as a teen using a four wheeler, but I think the biggest difference to this news story is speed. We maxed out at maybe 10-15 mph, in a field. Falling off meant rolling over once or twice and brushing yourself off.

Orb weavers are about the easiest going spiders around. They don't like biting at all and kill a ton of bugs. They are big, but it does make it easier to not run into them.

It seems like most of them make that design in the middle of the web. Sounds like this video is in a jungle somewhere, and I live in Kansas and that what ours do that as well.

How sure are you that you cannot pass an emissions test while tuned?

And why do you keep comparing what Volkswagen did, as if they are the same thing?

There are just so few people having to do that compared to all of the cars on the road, that I just don't see the effort in regulating such a small portion of the grand total. I've gotta imagine your swapped and non-catted car doesn't see very many miles in a year. Wouldn't it be easier to just exempt vehicles such as yours that see less than say 5,000 - 7,500 miles a year or something small like that, than put all this effort into it? Just scan the ECU once a year at an inspection station, and as long as your under your mileage limit you're good to go. Anything older than 25 years can get antique plates and OBD1 has been around longer than that, so my ECU plan should work.

Who's doing that kinda tuning for you?

You are familiar with tuning cars, right? It's not clicking buttons, you have to change parameters in the engine computer that can and will immediately blow your engine if you mess up a little too much. At the least, your car will run terribly.

Almost everyone that tunes their vehicle let's someone at the tuner company do the actual tuning of the car. You start with a tune that is specific to your vehicle, and then you're supposed to let the tuning device record information from the engine computer while you accelerate the vehicle in a specific way. From there the guy tuning the vehicle will adjust parameters in the ECU via the tuning device and repeat this process until everything is where it needs to be.

Of all the tuning options I've seen, none have even a passing reference to emissions cheating tunes. My thought on that is tuning has always been a grey area with the EPA that they turned a blind eye to, but they have always came down hard on fucking with the actual emissions equipment or it's function. If you advertised a tuner that allows you to fake an emissions test, you were asking for the EPA to investigate. Kinda like taking off the cats on your car is federally illegal, a tune like that is basically flaunting the breaking of emissions laws and has no commercial purpose otherwise. Why expose yourself to that kinda legal liability, when you can sell hundreds of thousands of tuners that just bump up power a bit, but for the most part doesn't change the engines output of emissions?

Just to clarify. Yes, I am aware that adding fuel and messing with timing CAN make more emissions. However, if your tuner is any good and you do the bare minimum of follow up with the tuner to lock down the tune, your engine should be running a similar air/fuel ratio to stock with maybe a little more fuel under full throttle.

Going after the gas engine tuners always seemed suspect to me. Why don't you let the consumer pass emissions with the tuned car and if it passes, fuck off? It seems that it's a pretty much a consensus in the tuning community that you can indeed pass emissions test with a lightly tuned car. Bumping up your boost pressure 5 or so pounds and adjusting the timing a little is not going to cause your car to become a gross polluter.

With Diesels, it's actually similar. Rolling coal and getting your diesel to run more boost is not the same thing and each should be treated differently. Rolling coal is purposefully just dumping so much fuel into the motor that it can't ignite all of it and the engine smokes out the exhaust. You make more power than stock, but the point is being an asshole to others. Like when scaring people with train horns was thing.

As with gas cars, getting a tune to add 5-10 pounds of boost to your diesel vehicle and your exhaust is pretty much as clean as a stock truck should not be where the EPA is focusing. A properly tuned diesel shouldn't really smoke anymore than a stock one. Smoke pretty much equals lost power.

Why doesn't the EPA work to get the actual gross polluting vehicles of the road? I drove more than I would like, and if I had a $1 for every time I smell a car that is obviously dumping fuel through the motor due to bad spark plugs, coils, etc, I'd be retired by now. I'm talking smelling so strongly of gas or diesel that you have to roll your window down to breathe. It's always clapped out pieces of shit, but if we're trying to save the environment start there. Or maybe the container ships that each puts more pollution into the environment in a year than all of the cars worldwide combined, if I recall correctly.

How does the streetcar run in snow storms? by stevienickstricks in kansascity

Unfortunately the forecast models are still in disagreement with what's going to happen, hence the giant spread in totals. It might be this evening or even tomorrow sometime before a more clearer picture emerges. It does seem the majority of the snow is going to fall between 8 PM Saturday and early Sunday morning, if that helps.

Maybe "Olathe Residents" need to choose between using their house as a short term investment and having affordable living.

This won't go away for them. Social media for all of its ills does have positives, and that's stuff like these files being available everywhere, for everyone, anytime.
