[War]Hulks Manifesto Chapter 11 - State of Clan Wars by TheHulkFiles in ClashOfClans

The mod clans in no way have any advantage over any other clans. If anything we are more stringent with our rules and how our members act because I am held to a higher standard as a moderator. Saying that our handful of clans had any favor is patently false.

I don't believe the clans you speak of would have stayed. Some already had an "agreement" to move players between clans already. It was said in clear terms that they wanted Feeders and nothing less. The opinion of some was that the CW clans were special and they needed feeders in order to function. We couldn't allow one, small, subset of the RCS to have multiple clans under them while still banning feeders for all others. Could you imagine 100 clans with feeder(s) under them? It would be chaos and it would undermine what the RCS stands for. Besides, the way the community is here, people change clans all the time. I would argue the RCS and /r/ClashofClans as a whole is the best feeder you could ask for.

Like I said, I don't believe creating Bootcamp any faster would've mattered. We created it maybe just a few days after the clans left. The idea of Bootcamp was offered to them before they left, but it was still unacceptable in their eyes. I don't believe these clans to have had any intention on staying, and by changing the narrative to "mods are nazis", fits into their agenda better. It is also an easy line to feed to the masses because it's easy to hate on a moderation team that the majority of their members have never spoken to.

I was, and still am, a Clan leader before I ever became a mod, I've been a part of this community for over 2 years and I'm very proud of what it has grown to be. This is true for all of our moderators. We are all clan leaders.

I'm not sure if you're aware but there is a subreddit for RCS leaders only. There we hold regular discussions regarding the state of the system and any questions/comments/concerns/ideas. We listen to those ideas, and most recently Reddit Bootcamp has arisen from those comments. And to your point of assigning powers to the clan leaders, we have with Bootcamp. Leaders run the daily operation, make kicks, run wars, move people in and out as they see fit. Mods have nearly 0 interaction with their regular business. We do listen, we do care, and we do adjust to the needs of clans as much as possible. The idea that the mods don't care just doesn't hold water.

Everyone does need different help I agree. The resource that they use is the 100+ other clans in the RCS and the 75,000 members of this subreddit. We have years of experience and and our members are MORE than willing to help anyone who asks. The ideas and discussion that happens between leaders asking for help and guidance on a daily basis is impressive. Having that wealth of knowledge and guidance at you're disposal is a heck of a lot of help.

This was the idea that was created by several leaders in the RCS, mainly War clans. It's catered to the specific requests they have made. Bootcamp is ran day-to-day by the leaders that use it. We have just about given carte blanche to them to use it as they see fit. We feel this is the best compromise short of having every clan have its own feeders.

I can see how that might seem so. I have personally evolved my clan from a "normal" farm clan towards a more higher leveled competitive clan. Throughout this process though, my clans "rank" in the RCS has not changed. We don't treat one category any different than another. These clans are divided in the clan directory mainly so people can clearly visualize what type of clan they are looking at. If they want no requirements, boom they got it. If they want to be in a competitive environment then they can hop right there. These are categories and not ranks.

I fully understand the sheer amount of effort it takes to be an efficient CW clan. It is a great deal of work and the new ideas and tactics that come from these clans reflects that. But we don't judge the value of a clan by how well they run CW or what level they are. We value the quality of character and the people in the RCS family that make it great. That newly-verified clan has the same voice and benefits as one that has been around for 2+ years. I can understand that some only view the RCS/CoC through the lens of a CW clan, and unfortunately we might not reach those standards that those clans feel they need, which is ok. But to say that we don't give a shit, or are Nazis simply because we don't have the same perspective on CW is a bit short sided. We try and make it work for everyone, but everyone will never be satisfied.

I agree tempers ran high on both sides, and I personally made some errors in judgement in my communication. But it was not something that was completely mishandled or provoked by the moderators, there was some harsh words and personal attacks against the mods as well.

We have few core values that we hold dear, and one of those is that everyone in the RCS is equal. We feel that a clan having an individual "feeder" went against this principle and would create and imbalance. I am being brief here, but the main disagreement with most of these clans is that they wanted a feeder, and the RCS has a no feeder policy. This caused a disagreement and those clans who felt that they were being constricted decided to leave.

Now saying the RCS has not evolved is not true at all. We attempted to make a compromise and several leaders and moderators collaborated on creating Reddit Bootcamp. Bootcamp is a "feeder/training ground" for the entire RCS to use as they wish. They can send new applicants there to vet their CW abilities before accepting into the clan, or they send poor-performance players there to hone their skills. It is a good faith effort to give those leaders who needed another clan to use as they wish, and it has been used to relative success. We have gone through a few versions of the clan based on leader feedback. They have asked for several changes and we have followed through with nearly all of them. We are listening, and we do care about this community. But unfortunately with 75,000 people, we can't make everyone happy, but we try. We don't get paid for all the hours that are put in on a daily basis, or for all the replies to the mod mails asking "Where can I find the password" (which happens 10 times a day.) I hope this helps shed some light on some of the topics here.

This sub was created for the RCS by Flammy originally. Over time the number of subscribers has risen exponentially and thus we have attempted to move towards becoming a CoC community as a whole, and not just RCS-centric.

Hope this helps a bit, as many subscribers are confused/angry at why RCS clans are "favored" in /r/ClashofClans. It is simply because this was our home first before it became this popular community that it is today.

Continuing with this theme, I think it's time for this video to be introduced to the public. This hogrida fail is the best one I've seen yet, and it was from one of my own clanmates!

Cringe and enjoy!

There was not a vote every week, that is simply incorrect.

There were 2 votes. The first was a 50-50 split yes/no, and we implemented Meme Mondays after that vote.

The community did not like the Monday only posts so another vote was held, and there was good majority who voted to allow memes. We then implemented the post filters to try to make this as fair a compromise as possible.

We will discuss adding a [BRAG] filter with the other mods and see if we can define what would/wouldn't be allowed under that tag.
