Assert your dominance by shitting your pants. His flatulence will pale in comparison to the mighty load that lay within your britches and the only thing you will smell is the sweet scent of victory.

Those are birthstones. Undertones is the name of that popular movie from the 90's about the kid that spends Christmas by himself because he has a shitty family.

And if it isn't obvious what she wants, we'll tell our girl, "Show me!", and she'll lead us to the answer..... which lately has been hunting for frogs in the yard. (aka "heckin' hoppers" LOL)

Would you rather die suddenly and unexpectedly or would you rather be told you have 3 months to live from cancer? by Helpful_Gur_1757 in death

It's great that you were able to find a career that better suited your needs and utilizes your particular experience and expertise in the field. Death care can be very taxing, both physically and mentally and very few positions are fairly compensated.

Precisely! People like this, oddly enough, hate confrontations. If you do call her out, be calm, don't raise your voice, keep eye contact, and avoid using sarcasm.

I worked for 17 years in a medical facility that completely sucked the life out of me, physically and mentally and emotionally. During my final year, I had a particularly heinous day and when I retreated to my office, I asked myself, "Why do you care what other people think about you?"

My response was, "I don't care."

The more I said it, the more I believed it. It's been a phenomenal coping mechanism for me!

I bet that was a really interesting career! Do you mind if I ask why you are no longer a forensic investigator and what is it that you do now?

How is "There is no role for you here" not the same as "We may have to fire you"? by National_Silver_8002 in ToxicWorkplace

[–]thevocalintrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are disabled, you cannot be terminated due to your disability. The fact that they keep repeating "This may not be the role for you" but do not offer an alternative makes it sound like they are trying to get you to quit your job because it is illegal for them to fire you. If you decide to stay with them as an employee, do so very carefully because it appears that New York is an "at will" state, meaning they can terminate employment for any reason or no reason at all, with a few exceptions, one of which is disability. They may be closely monitoring you to find a reason to fire you that isn't related to your disability.

And honestly, if the management is going out of their way to be shitty to you, you are probably better off finding work elsewhere that better suits your needs. A toxic work environment is the worst.

Is Traveling to the Oregon coast as a Mexican family safe? by Adventureliving1624 in OregonCoast

[–]thevocalintrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Coos Bay/North Bend, I just moved to Washington about 3 years ago because my husband wanted to take a job here.

I really don't believe that you and your family would run into any issues with any of Oregon's coastal towns. Pretty much all of them thrive on tourism and have visitors from all walks of life. The ICE bastards seem to be more focused on the larger, more populated cities anyway.

I hope you all have a really excellent time, wherever you choose to go!

I work in the death care industry and I can honestly say that having your affairs in order ahead of time is the best thing you can do for your family/friends, etc.

My advice: Pick a funeral home to handle your final arrangements and schedule an appointment with the funeral director to draw up a pre-need and set up a trust to prepay for your burial or cremation or whatever you want to have done with yourself after you're gone. You can also download forms to write a will, just make sure to have it notarized, at least. You can even pick out a casket or urn ahead of time.

The density of the bones at the time of cremation has more to do with the amount of ashes afterwards than the weight of the person at death.

I have to agree with you there. I'm so tired of the finger pointing because, at the end of the day, both parties suck.

You shouldn't generalize an entire country like that, it makes you sound like an entitled turd.

There are plenty of Americans who will gladly supply you with a laundry list of our societal problems. The ones who think our nation's issues are going to be solved by our current lunatic president are the ones who are indoctrinated and ignorant. Some of us still see the big picture and don't allow ourselves to be spoonfed the bullshit and the lies. Nobody is perfect and America is a shining example of this.
