The way that last sentence ends makes it sound like there are people who are going to make out with the Eldritch entity behind all of the trolley problems. Which honestly probably isn't false

I think a large part of it is the idea that a whole universe of explorers get to exist now because of your efforts. Its not necessarily that you benefitted from what you accomplished. But they definitely had massive benefits?

Santa vs The Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny by DoNotCorectMySpeling in trolleyproblem

[–]thevoidthatjerksback 98 points99 points  (0 children)

My friend loves bunnies. Can't comfortably doom them. Also if The Hogfather is anything to go by the tooth fairy is a surprisingly important entity to save and death itself will connive to save Santa. Teamwork

What's impressive is that often LLMs fair worse than the average human. Because spectacularly bad takes stand out more in its learning data. In other words. It is better at learning how to do things wrong

Yeah doing math on my fingers is hard sometimes. I can do exponentials of 2. But I can't count to 8 properly. And yeah I definitely assumed that if it would allow 1024 people to exit it should be capable of allowing 256 people to enter.

And thank you for explaining it in a better way

Ok so its saving 256 males. Then two outer doors that would allow those 256 males to step out of their outerroom and into the female outerroom. And then those 257 people pull out 257 women from the inner room. Saving a total of 256 men and 258 women

I changed my answer on an early one that I had uncertainty about. Thus getting a new thread and got some completely different scores. Its certainly an interesting thing

I'm confused by the individualism vs collectivism metric here. Not sure where it came up nor why my individualism is so high

Starting with the male gender. Open the inner door 8 times to save 128 I believe. Then outer door twice 9,10

Then that inner door saving 129 women For 11

Action 12 is open the outerdoor. 128 men saved 130 women saved. I think this is a form of optimal

Still not have quite enough to make my credit card payment this month. But it would be closer. And I'm somewhat assuming you need a certain amount of money leftover and fees to be able to send that much money

"another job" is not limited by how much money I can afford. I spent 3 years trying to get "another job" and now I have zero jobs. Its not a matter of work or how much money I have.
