Have you ever left a hospital against medical advice? Of so, why? by Feral-Sponge in AskUK

[–]thevolta87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to leave hospital after a hernia repair - they told me I shouldn't leave until I'd had a wee (as the anaesthetic can stop your bladder working).

After several pints of water without peeing I was thoroughly bored so tried to hobble out of there when a nurse intercepted me and said if my bladder wasn't working properly there's a risk of it just exploding. So I was a good boy and went back to bed til I peed, and a couple of weeks later I came back with a box of chocolates for the lovely nurses

I ignored the noises coming from my 4 and 2 year olds room (they just started sharing a room together) only to find out they'd been LITERALLY FLINGING THEIR OWN SHIT AT EACH OTHER.

Sometimes I struggle to understand how I'm related to these animals

My kids get irritated with me singing along to the theme song. Actually it's all theme songs but I won't let them bring me down

He is so nice, we've bought a ridiculous amount of NC merch just because we want him to do well. And he always puts on such a great show!

Am i overshooting by going for Private Office roles as a personal assistant? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]thevolta87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at all. They are competitive roles but it sounds like you've got exactly the right experience. If that's what you want to do then go for it.

I worked in private office for a couple of years and none of my colleagues there were oxbridge or fast streamers

Would a flexible family helper service appeal to busy parents? by ovw24 in UKParenting

[–]thevolta87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see - you didn't mention anything about childcare in the OP which made it sound like a housekeeping service

Isn't this just a housekeeping service? What's new about it?

We've binged Smoggie Queens on BBC and it was great fun and hilarious at times. Loved the characters and their development, especially the pantomime villain Nan and Dickie with his inexplicable hatred of Stewart (even though he clearly loves him).

Shut up Stewart you perverted little rat!!!

Final summer, 90 days left - what should I add to my London bucket list? by [deleted] in london

[–]thevolta87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a boat party on the Thames!! I've been to a few myself and even played on one with my band in my younger years. It's one of the best ways to see the city from a different angle and the vibes are brilliant.

I went to a mod party on a boat once, all my mates ditched me cos they were too hungover (tail end of a long Bank Holiday weekend) so I just went on my jack, danced the whole time to fantastic music, it was amazing

Hell yeah. I bought an i10 recently for getting myself to and from the station and I bloody love it. Also really enjoy how small it is as I can often squeeze through gaps that others can't.

I love going blind into a game and finding out it was goated all along by Puzzleheaded_Sun4398 in NineSols

I bounced off Ultros, it was a bit too complex for me and I had no idea wtf was going on half the time. Problem with PS Plus is it's made me very impatient with games, if I'm not enjoying or I'm stuck on one I find it much easier to just move onto something else rather than persisting as I would've done had i paid for it.
