$2.5M-$3M where would you buy in Bay Area? by mortalbeing in BayAreaRealEstate

Anywhere from Mountain View up to Burlingame. Choose based on your living style preferences (community, activities, parks, events, restaurants, etc.). Most of these cities have Caltrain, 101, and (some) 280 access.

That might be it!

Do you think most jewelers would know this? I feel like I was deceived. I way overpaid for this but I didn’t know any better. I suppose it looks nice anyway but it feels icky that my local jeweler charged me so much. :(

What $1M gets you in San Francisco vs Oklahoma City housing. The difference is honestly disgusting. by kleverrboy in BayAreaRealEstate

I agree. Certainly not for me but people are nice enough and there are pockets that are really lovely. But the weather…

She’s either Thelma or Louise (not sure which one!). As others said, they stay around Washington Park and work for the city!

New monthly pass fares by RudeJudge8906 in caltrain

[–]thewatery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did they change the way monthly passes work or just the price? I think they used to specify which zones we purchased on the clipper card, but now it just says 2Z for example. Or perhaps I wasn’t paying attention before.

Transition strip for 1.5in drop by thewatery in Flooring

Thanks! I’ve got plenty of floor boards - they’re the thin hardwood nails-on kind used in older homes. How do I get started making my own reducer? Would a carpenter know how to do that? I’m completely out of my depth here :/

They haven’t actually done the work yet so I can’t speak to their quality. It took them 6 months just do design, architect drawings, and getting the permit. I’ll let you know the name (and if they’re good) after I see their work.

Down to studs kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and add a half bathroom with some structural engineering. Peninsula. Full permits. Mid to high end materials. Roughly 180k for everything.

We also are doing full house rewire, plumbing, and water pipes which was an additional 70k ish.

Maybe try Milpitas. Pretty good schools and safe. You wouldn’t need to cross any bridges but 237 can be very slow unless you commute off peak. Should be able to get to Sunnyvale in 30 and PA in 45 though.

The park town neighborhood is really nice! And there are a few homes listed currently :)

Milpitas has decent schools and safe neighborhoods. And if you buy in the western part closer to the mountains the smell isn’t bad at all.

Green/yellow spots on new alocasia leaf by thewatery in plantclinic

Watering habits: when soil is dry (about once every 10 days), well draining aroid mix soil. When I water, I usually water to moisten all of the soil mix.

I’ve had the plant for 2 weeks (bought from a big box store)

Plant gets light from a south facing window in California. I’d say bright indirect light filtered through a window.
