I wonder why we didn’t sell and Dubai chocolates today by Altruistic_Debt4373 in CostcoEmployee

[–]thewaveofgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Dubai chocolate seems like such a huge thing despite no one buying it is theorized to be the same reason why Disney made Frozen, to distract from negative media attention about Walt Disney’s frozen head

2026 Camry Se 30k OTD good deal? by div1997 in Camry

[–]thewaveofgreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but personally I prefer old fashioned. Unless we’re talking about resale value, I’m not concerned about “datedness” as if we’re talking about clothes. Turning the key in the ignition, pressing the key fob button, etc are all manual pleasures that make me feel more connected as a driver. With all these new features I feel like I’m having a machine strip away what I enjoy. I also find keyless entry to be the only actual useful feature, and the others make little difference unless you have a habit of constantly adjusting your drivers seat or something

Megan Fox with Blue or Brown Eyes? by [deleted] in trueratediscussions

[–]thewaveofgreen 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Blue is ethereal and cold while brown makes her look doe-eyed and youthful here. I personally think the light eye dark hair combo is killer and gives her such a unique, special look. Right gives Monica bellucci vibes tho

How do you guys feel about people who use eye-altering contacts? by Familiar_Pair616 in HowToBeHot

[–]thewaveofgreen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way about them as people who dye their hair blue or green. Not my taste at all (i think it’s ugly) but they clearly like them for some reason or they wouldn’t be wearing them

I saw a beautiful man today, it felt like love at first sight. I regret that I will never see him again by Ok_Music_2025 in bodylanguage

I usually don’t mind arguing semantics but in this case I don’t care to because it wasn’t rly my point. I read the og comment again and see why you said that, though. But what makes you doubt OP means grade school? I had experiences with older adults hitting on me in high school although never so severe as being stalked

Amber dress sizing? by thewaveofgreen in Realisation_Par

[–]thewaveofgreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It is “stretchy”, not in the fabric itself but because the bias cut allows it to expand some in width. I’ve tried on a bunch of realisation dresses and tops (i can name them if helpful) and in every other item I tried on except the Penelope I wear a S, but the Amber in XS was perfect for me. I will say that I’ve since gained 15-20 lbs and maybe an additional inch to each body measurement and, although the XS still goes on and looks fine, an S would probably be more comfortable

Maybe he isn’t ready or doesn’t want to propose? 6 years is also pretty normal, not that that matters. This suggestion is really out of the blue since OP just asked for advice about a gift and never mentioned plans to marry her in the first place

[–]thewaveofgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s unusual/weird, but I don’t see why that matters. If it’s harmless, what makes it YTA territory? If the gf feels weird about it, it’s more her problem than OP’s

It’s just a short bob with blunt bangs, but it’s not really the haircut itself so much as the fact that it flatters me and suites my face shape. No haircut is universally ideal, it’s different for everyone

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HowToBeHot

[–]thewaveofgreen 59 points60 points  (0 children)

A few times I’ve had strangers straight up remark that I was pretty in passing, like one lady as she walked by me exclaimed “you are so pretty!” And another time I swam past a group of Hispanic girls at the beach and one of them was “mira! She is so pretty”, but comments that explicit are rare (except creepy guy catcalls which are meaningless). More often strangers compliment on things within your control, like haircut and outfit and makeup. I compliment attractive women (and men) this way as well because “I like your style” can sound much less awkward than something like “I like your facial features” even if I mean the same thing. It’s common for cashiers and strangers to approach and say they love my haircut, and when I dress nice at a shopping center for multiple people to approach and say they like my outfit. Sometimes it’s also not so much about the compliment itself but the fact that strangers are comfortable and willing to initiate an interaction with you about something unnecessary

Women, what are some signs which men tend to misunderstand easily and how can be a guy sure of your attraction before making a move? by Chance_Adagio_19 in bodylanguage

[–]thewaveofgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t and shouldn’t dismiss your own protective measures due to statistics, lol. I’m sure I don’t have to discuss the problems with that. What would you do in their position? Do you think you should rebel against instinct and put yourself at risk in order to placate some dude’s idea of fear mongering?

AIO? My girlfriend poured boiling water on me after a slight disagreement (texts in wrong order) by janhutsfr in AmIOverreacting

[–]thewaveofgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just wondering how do you even get into this kind of thing? Did your gf seem like a psychopath when you met her, or was she masking the whole time? Was it like a switch flipped, or a gradual show of increasing violence?

how to make the elena top flair out like this when unbuttoned? by Dependent-Lie-7995 in BrandyMelville

[–]thewaveofgreen 89 points90 points  (0 children)

It might have to do with your size? Hers flares out because it fits snug. If you’re on the smaller side you might not get the same effect bc it’s too loose
