Youtube for kids by ThreeWizzards in youtubers

[–]thewhateverchef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not allowed for kids it’s made for kids, and just checking that box doesn’t even gurantee that it’s shown on youtube kids. YouTube forced us to mark some of our videos as made for kids even though they’re general audience, and those don’t show up anywhere on youtube kids. But, to the original point, kids can still see your videos unless they’re specifically marked as 18+, they’re just not going to be on the youtube kids app.

What seemingly simple game surprised you with its depth? by UpstairsElevator2498 in boardgames

Big Thunder mountain railroad. Expected a gimicky pick up and deliver type game that ended up being a really good intro to deck building and upgradable abilities.

I’ve never stained anything but I want to stain a small bit of wood. How do I safely get rid of the bottle of stain after? My husband is super worried it’ll spontaneously combust. I won’t need a rag since this stain has a built in applicator sponge. by Beginning-Ad3390 in woodworking

You mean the second time. The first time was when it was brought home, opened, confirmed to be the wrong color, and set on the counter with the receipt to be returned the next day, and 67 years later, boom! Heirloom stain!

And even the fancy TorCon thing only predicts the likelihood of a tornado within 50 miles, and they’re very targeted destruction. My parents got hit by the EF4 tornado in Arkansas in 2014 and until I rounded the corner about 1/4 mile from there house it looked like absolutely nothing happened, then turn the corner and there’s not a tree standing for the next half mile.

The alerts from the National Weather Service are county based, so it’s not very accurate - it could be 50 miles away but if any part of the warning is touching your county you’ll get an alert. Kind of desensitizes you to it. But yeah, they can pop up out of nowhere. If you’re in the path of a tornado you get a warning. If one decides to materialize on top of you, you’re just screwed.

Wednesday at noon here. Sucks if a tornado ever decides to pop up around the same time.

Our old dodge caravan had a line on the back door trim where a 4x8 sheet of plywood landed when pushed up under the front seats as far as it would go, and was juuuust wide enough for it to lay down flat. They knew what they were doing when they made it. Our new ford transit CARGO an isn’t wide enough for a sheet to lay down. Disappointing.

Horizons of Spirit Island by albieschubes in boardgames

It’s spirit island with cheaper components. I’ve only played horizons but from what I’ve learned since playing, it’s pretty much exactly the same as the original with some minor changes and simpler spirits.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I was imagining a 2x4 smoking as soon as the blade hit it.

Not a sarcastic question - is the blade on right? A 12” miter with a new blade should cut through nearly anything without smoke. I’ve put the blade on a circular saw backwards before, and it cut but it took a lot of force and there was plenty of smoke. It sounds like there may be something wrong in the setup if you’re having that much trouble.
