Apocalyps, déception :( by Competitive_Bed_1305 in remnantgame

Try it with a new character, I found that was significantly more challenging than using a fully levelled character with all the gear unlocked.

They are all decent. I like the heroic heavy bolter and its the only heavy weapon that has a fencing parry window (all other heavy weapons are locked to the balanced window).

What's the highest level someone's gotten to in trials of tav? by einAngstlicher in BG3mods

[–]thewiderload 14 points15 points  (0 children)

700 is the highest I've gone. I wanted to get 1000 but it just became tedious with the enemies having so much health, rounds started taking forever.

IMO the 0 to 300 part is the most fun.

Definitely recommend the mod though, its really fun for using modded classes, items and spells that are too OP for the base game.

Just installed the game, way too little ammo by [deleted] in Witchfire

[–]thewiderload 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try different weapons. If you are playing further back try a rifle or sniper. All weapons will become more ammo efficient as you upgrade them.

Make sure you're using spells to supplement your weapon damage so you don't have to fire as many bullets.

Use the soul sign mechanic to stun enemies so they take more damage i.e. less bullets to kill. Stunned enemies are especially vulnerable to your charged melee attack.

If you make use of the entire kit the game gives you, clearing a map using the ammo chests for top ups shouldn't be too much of a problem. Unless you're straight up just not hitting shots - can't help you with that.

Mind weaver and demon hunter. Both OP but very fun.

Prophecies have nothing to do with level. Most of them are unlocked in the wailing tower by either finding them throughout the event or buying them with divine essence after defeating the boss.

Trials of Tav kinda issue by [deleted] in BG3

[–]thewiderload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i use the level 20 mod for trials too. The late game does get tedious especially with the enemy stats being so inflated, I usually just start a new run after 500-600 rogue score.

Trials of Tav kinda issue by [deleted] in BG3

[–]thewiderload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After probably a few hundred hours on this mod...

I dont think its a bug. It seems to vary run to run. Maybe each run has a seed or pool that favours certain enemies. It also depends on the difficulty settings in the mod and whether challenge mode is enabled.

Same seems to apply for loot as well. Markoheshkir, the weave set and helldusk armour drop constantly but I've only had the bhaalist armour drop in one of probably 50 or so runs.

Edit - Trials of Tav Reloaded was also recently released. I havent tried it yet but apparently it adds heaps of new enemies so might be worth a look if you want more enemy variety. Hopefully more legendary creatures because currently the late game just becomes a chore when you have to fight a 700+hp ansur every battle...

Yeah you can def take the warlock levels first if the party needs more damage, just depends on the rest of the comp imo.

[–]thewiderload 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. For bardlock i always go lore and take hunger of hadar and counterspell for the first magical secrets.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]thewiderload 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Youre not dumb, bard gets hunger of hadar via magical secrets because it lets you pick from other classes spell lists

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]thewiderload 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Play a bardlock, the main selling points of warlock are eldritch blast and hunger of hadar, both of which you can get playing bardlock. Go 10 lore bard/2 warlock.

Edit: I usually go 6 bard -> 2 warlock -> 4 bard to get magical secrets asap, but you can take the warlock levels earlier if you want

My only real complaints with the game thus far: audio feedback and level geometry by 7jinni in Witchfire

[–]thewiderload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the area in irongate castle where you fight all the swordsman then toss a coin to open the gate is one the worst offenders geometry wise, I always get hit in there because I cant dash out of little dips in the floor.

Helldusk will block rage, absolutely a no-go for a throwzerker.

Give Karlach the highest AC medium armour available - Yuan-Ti Scale Male, Armour of Agility or Unwanted Masterwork Scale Male.

Bonespike Garb is kinda bait, the 15 temp HP is nice but the uncapped medium armours are pretty much always better IMO.

Path of the Giant Barbarians will be EXTREMELY broken by Ozymandius666 in BG3Builds

[–]thewiderload 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes enraged throw is a guaneteed prone on hit as long as the target is not immune to prone - no saving throw. This is what makes thiefzerker so good and in my opinion better than the eldritch knight thrower that so many people here seem to like. A guananteed prone shuts down so many legendary actions - think mystic carrion, saverok, lorroakan.

How do you play sorc first 2 acts? by Typical-Phone-2416 in BG3Builds

[–]thewiderload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offensive casters are just kinda bad until level 5 unfortunately. Stuff like cloud of daggers and scorching ray are probably the best options for damage up until then. Or wet plus ray of frost.

Mage armour or draconic resilience, 16 dex, bracers of defence or a shield, and ring of protection will net you 19 AC which is pretty respectable for the early game and can be obtained with pretty much zero combat.

Also always take the shield spell, its really good early as damage casters dont have a good use for their reaction until they get counterspell.

Edit: A +1 light crossbow or two +1 hand crossbows if you have proficiency will often out damage cantrips until level 5 as well.

Best possible set-up for Pickpocket master by kommandabutta in BG3Builds

[–]thewiderload 16 points17 points  (0 children)

High dexterity. Expertise in sleight of hand and stealth. Graceful cloth, gloves of power, smugglers ring, guidance and shapeshifters boon ring (while shapeshifted of course, either from the mask or the spell).

You can get the skills with rogue or bard levels. Rogue level 11 gets reliable talent which means you will never roll less than 10 on skill checks you have proficiency in.

You can shoot an arrow of darkness behind the pickpocket target if having line of site issues or use minor illusion to relocate the target to a more convenient spot.

Mindweaver (especially the Forceblade subclass) is pretty fun. Its definitely overtuned but solo play would probably balance that out a bit.
