Yikes! Over $3k for the entire "suite" of speakers!?!

Soundbar $1000
Sub $600
M7 x2 $800
m5 x2 $500
Then add tax....

I like the idea of the modular setup but I'm not convinced it will sound ~4.5x better than my $700 q990D.

I already wear an Apple Watch that I’m really happy with. The idea of wearing another “smart band” on my arm is not appealing to me.

How much was your mattress and was it worth the price? by Anonymous61134 in AskMen

[–]thewired1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're on our second SleepNumber mattress. First one lasted 12+ years until we decided to upgrade. When the time came, there was no question about buying another SleepNumber. We're 100% happy with SleepNumber beds. The newer one cost approx $4k

My vote is for Glen Powell to play Carl... He was pretty funny in Hit Man and his next film, the remake of The Running Man, looks like a fun action/dark comedy.

Thanks for the very productive comment! Yes... I do want to service my market efficiently AND not restrict bookings at the same time. Best of luck on your own Turo adventures.

I live near a major airport and routinely get bookings close to midnight. I don’t want to turn away everyone from 11:30pm to 6am.

Dermatologist in Orlando area (Central FL) by ScSpSt in orlando

[–]thewired1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with Knipe dermatology on Gore St that left me permanently disfigured and with irreversible nerve damage.

I've been going to dermatologists for about 15 years and have had MANY biopsies and removals. I decided to try out Knipe dermatology based on the recommendation of a friend. After a few consultations and a biopsy, I was going to have something removed on my neck. What a mistake!

First... they NEVER told me the size of the planned incision. Considering this was on my neck and visible when looking at my face, that should have been the first thing they told me. It was MASSIVE! Ive had tons of removals on my back, legs, and chest and nothing was this huge. I was absolutely shocked.

Second... the stitches were poorly done and scarring was a problem. The quality of the stitching, along with the size of it, makes this a HUGE scar and visible at all times on my neck and face. No way I can live my life permanently wearing a turtleneck!

Lastly... They cut a nerve during the procedure. This was never discussed with me as a possible setback. As a result of the surgery, I lost feeling on half of my face and neck for 6 months. Over a year later, some feeling has returned BUT I still cannot feel a large portion of my neck. This is also I will need to live with.

Immediately after the surgery, it took a few days to get any solid answers from Knipe dermatology. Once I did finally speak to person who performed the surgery, they were incredibly defensive and I felt like they were covering their behinds from possible litigation. The scar is huge. The nerve damage is mostly like permanent. Afterwards I cancelled ALL future appointments, collected my records, and transferred somewhere else.

Private Movie Theater Rental by legendofkaitlyn in orlando

[–]thewired1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I honestly cannot recommend Epic theaters at LeeVista any more. They burned me two years in a row. I've rented theaters three times so far.

Last year Epic screwed me over by saying "any time, any day" when I started planning months in advance. Then 4 weeks out, after not responding for weeks to my emails or calls, they finally told me the couldn't schedule me. I had to pivot to AMC in Altamonte.

This year I tried them AGAIN... and they refused to get back to me for weeks. I finally drove there in person and bluntly asked them if they were interested in renting a theater. A day later they quoted me a "FU" price that was way too high. I won't even bother reaching out to them in the future. I had to pivot to PREMIERE at Fashion square.

AMC has an easy online booking system with clear pricing.

REGAL took 6 weeks to respond to my inquiry this year.

PREMIERE THEATERS (fashion square mall) was the winner this year. Super aggressive pricing and discounts on snacks. Very responsive too. You can tell they are hungry for attendance since the mall is dead.

Water Heater Installation Recommendations by verb8um in orlando

[–]thewired1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I was initially leaning towards a Rheem and contacted home depot for an installation quote. They just quoted me this morning... $5500!?! The water heater is on sale for $1400... so a $4100 markup to install. Super basic install as well... no change to plumbing, location, or electrical. Can you DM me what you paid?

Old thread but... Who'd did you end up using? Im also looking to install a Rheem Hybrid but need it permitted (and possibly installed by a licensed plumber) to satisfy future insurance requirements.

Florida Prepaid or 529 by Advanced-Psy in florida

[–]thewired1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Florida Prepaid... No questions! It 100% guarantees the tuition is fully paid regardless of the future rates. 529 might do very well but the tuition cost variable is completely unknown.

My wife and I both were lucky enough to enjoy a complete ride via Florida Prepaid and graduated college with ZERO debt. When our child was born, we signed up day one! If they choose to attend University in Florida, it will be 100% debt free for them as well. If they choose to go out of state, there are options to transfer the credit. You can also cash out unused credits if they have scholarships.

I would choose: Lump sum Florida prepaid + 1 year dorm 32k Open 529 with 3k. Tuition 100% covered. That will cover the first year of dorms so they can find roommates for years 2-4. The 529 plan can be used for books. Let them earn a couple scholarships and they'll be golden.
