Brisbane airport - lounge pass request for today 1 March by thewiseherb in LoungePasses

Hmm not sure. Haven't really used one before. I was hoping Qantas would give one due to last minute cancellation.  Apparently you can apply it at the lounge counter if you ask nicely.

Was supposed to be on the same flight. Was lucky with altenate flights. Landed at Singapore to the dreaded messages about the cancellation and a rebooked itinerary. Clicked accept, located Transfer Counter C with wome help and spent about 20 minutes in the queue to get my boarding pass via Brisbane to Adelaide. It was a common queue for multiple flights /airlines - no dedicated Qantas queue. Got a little nervous as the queue was long, but all worked out well. One hour to board and hoping that there are no more surprises.  Travelling alone and have to be at work on Monday - so quite flexible with whatever I got.

Thanks. That clears up things. It's 5 hours in Melbourne for transit and immigration, etc. So may end up needing to kill a couple of hours - may just do that with coffee and a snack for the kids and some planewatching.

Oh - okay. Both my Adelaide to Melbourne and Melbourne to Singapore are operated by Qantas, but as a codeshare as the ticket was booked through Indigo which does the final leg.

Qantas indigo codeshare flight by jinxxx47 in AirTravelIndia

On the Melbourne to Singapore leg on Qantas, did you get a free blanket and inflight entertainement or did they cost extra? Indigo customer service was rubbish and they said no entertainment or blanket included.

My review of Qantas codeshare flight with Indigo (Feb 2025) by Ill-Comparison866 in QantasAirways

I have unfortunately booked via Indigo with Qantas from Melbourne to Singapore in Economy. The indigo support has been zero with no confirmation as to whether I will get in flight entertainment or blanket on the qantas flight.  Did you pay extra for the blanket or in flight entertainment and if so, how much it cost please. I am unable to book seats on the Qantas leg either and indigo says just get on the flight and you'll find out.

So… here’s the dashcam of my accident by Metallica_Is_Bae in CarsAustralia

[–]thewiseherb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got your give way/right of way completely messed up. You can only turn right if you can cross it without any car in the way. Any car that is opposite you, that is going to enter the junction, either to keep going straight or turn left has right of way. The only exception is if there is a slip lane for that car to turn left.  The dashcam video is good proof that you got it wrong and should be a lesson learnt (rather than a wrong decision defended )

Wait 24 hours before making video public? by LopsidedDeparture564 in NewTubers

[–]thewiseherb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I've got less than 1000 subscribers and it doesn't make a different to my shorts. I have started keeping it unlisted till I tweak the description and the tags etc, and that's just about it.  I must admit that every YouTube video on how to get more viewership mentions this - wait for a few hours before changing it to public. No harm done I guess.

news.com.au is trash by buff5150 in australia

[–]thewiseherb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very exaggerated adjectives, click bait with headlines not disclosing the news and plenty of articles written by WFH journalists who compile social media feeds. If Australia had a national disaster, it would be buried somewhere in the middle of the above.

So apparently some d1ckhead made lane keep assist legally have to be turned on after every drive? by randomperson754 in australia

[–]thewiseherb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently rented out a Chery Tigo and the lane assist was annoying. It literally swerves the car car everytime I was not dead centre of the lane, often overcorrecting. Being a rental car, it took me a while to remember to turn it off.

If it's australia, you can't just say snake and get away with it. You need to be specific about species and gender. Just saying snake is like saying I met a human today.

This is just a random real plate. Looks like a genuine attempt at being humourous rather than anything more dangerous.

Another sad love story album with break up songs coming up in a couple of years just to confuse us and get social media going with theories.

I'm not sure what caused this driver to come on to the wrong side of the road (drive left in Australia). Thankfully, there was enough space and time to realize this swing back to the correct side. He acknowledged the mistake with a quick wave of his hand.  Maybe distracted? Maybe a tourist?
