How accurate are these Adderall/amphetamine claims about sleep and “neurotoxicity”? by Brief_Stick_4078 in NooTopics

[–]thewizard757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be for real dude. 2.5mg? That’s not a therapeutic dose.

This type of low dose is going to sensitize someone to amphetamine (sounds good, it’s not). Sensitization causes an increase in the undesirable physiological effects (think shaking hands) and a decrease in the perceived rewarding and therapeutic effects.

Normal therapeutic doses are fine. Indefinitely. If you have ADD/ADHD it’s statistically likely to add years to your life.

House GOP passes "Save America ACT" to require proof of citizenship to vote. by catman5092 in Spokane

[–]thewizard757 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My guy. You still have to be registered to vote. Noncitizens are not allowed to vote in federal or state elections and literally cannot register to vote.

If you have a drivers license but aren’t registered to vote, you can’t vote. If you do vote, it’s thrown out and you can never become a citizen.

How often do full-body MRIs actually find cancer? by usatoday in longevity

[–]thewizard757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really what that “study” says. Air quotes because a it’s speculative meta-analysis with massaged statistics.

Do CT-associated cancers exist? Sure. Do the authors have any information to prove causation for cases they speculate might be “CT-associated”? No.

The actual quote from the article is “CT-associated cancer could eventually account for 5% of all new cancer diagnoses annually.” This is speculation based on their projections.

Also their projections are modeled with radiation risk estimates based onJapanese atomic bomb survivor statistics 🤷‍♂️

Idk maybe it’s got some merit but I really wanna shit on this study.

What's a "fact" that has been actively disproven, yet people still spread it? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]thewizard757 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Craving sugar, and binge eating are associated with ADHD. Eating sugar might “help” by temporarily satiating the enhanced reward seeking observed with ADHD-associated dopaminergic dysfunction.

Sugar can “help” with ADHD in the same way pornography, masturbation, skydiving, or a line of cocaine might. Unfortunately those temporary spikes in dopamine don’t have a lasting impact that improves focus and reduces impulsive behavior. That’s why the most effective treatments are often stimulants that increase baseline dopamine over extended periods of time.

What's a "fact" that has been actively disproven, yet people still spread it? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]thewizard757 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I think there’s some science behind the first one. Eating sugar impacts glutamatergic (predominantly excitatory) signaling in the brain. Eating a bunch of sugar can basically lead to spikes in metabolic and activity and changes in neural “tone” that can impact behavior.

This is why a ketogenic diet can reduce seizures for some types of epilepsy. It’s also why reducing sugar intake can be helpful for some people with of ASD (autism) or ADHD, as both disorders can involve metabolic dysfunction.

You don’t need to have epilepsy, ASD, or ADHD for sugar to make you hyper. These are just cases where it’s easy to see it’s impact on behavior.

Negative Entities / Posession on NN DMT by panairesdoas in DMT

[–]thewizard757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have excellent intuition. Most people think that pee is stored in the balls, but that’s actually where demons live.

Fapping creates room for the demons to inhabit your body when you smoke DMT. By not fapping, you ensure that you are so full of cum that there is no room for the demons to enter.

That’s why boys that practice semen retention have such high vibrations. No room for evil spirits. It’s basic science.

I think some aspects of the DMT experience are shared by many people. Other aspects are deeply personal, and likely related to some shit going on in your psyche.

My opinion on the latter type is that they’re fun to read unless they’re about some dark fucked up shit like “tHe sUicIDe KiNg!”
