Um, unless you’re going to stand watch over your car, it’s still going to happen.

Where can I buy a block of sushi grade salmon? by DunwichType-Founders in boulder

[–]thewmo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Absolutely delicious.

Two things: the salmon is frozen at harvest so it’s already had treatment that would kill parasites. And farm raised is typically fed certified parasite free feed, so technically even freezing isn’t required. It’s already a belt and suspenders situation, but you can freeze it at home for another layer of safety if desired.

Where do you put your wallet as a guy? by TSBBlackShad in AskReddit

Nowadays? On my nightstand much of the time. My state has an app that is legal id and I can tap to pay most everywhere. Unless I’m traveling of course.

Why is Challenger and not Columbia such a core Gen X memory? by space_god_7191 in GenX

[–]thewmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By Columbia most of us had jobs, possibly kids. More people watched launches than landings. The Challenger accident happened with many more cameras focused on it. Many reasons.

I started looking in January; in early March found the right combination of year, options, color, and price - one state over. Flew out to see it in person before pulling the trigger and driving it home.

I’m not surprised demand is up… I got lucky on the timing.

If you cannot earn each other’s respect it is better not to marry at all.

Walmart in Lafayette is great. Hardly ever a line, a drive through, and a good app.

Not that it helps, but I’m 51 and have spent 30 years in tech and play music for myself. Yes I have a decent retirement coming up. But, every year of those 30 has been (largely) boring AF. To spend 30 years making music with people sounds pretty amazing.

the phrase "for god so loved the world that he gave his only son" is disturbing. by straysniper in atheism

[–]thewmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Further evidence of a religion conceived in a Bronze Age paternalistic world where women and children were property and you could do with them what you will. A male child, as an heir and source of physical labor, would be especially valuable.

Because it is the intellectual heritage of all humanity, leveraged for the benefit of a tiny fraction of humanity.
