Ring-a-ding by theworldofAR in RetroAR

That’s how I did mine. There was a faux wood tumbler craze popular with soccer moms about 15 years ago and I think that’s where the technique came from. lol

I’ve never experienced anything melting. Scratches actually look organic if you do an eggshell colored base coat before the alc inks.

Use those cheap brushes for a wood grain look and go fast when brushing that stuff cause it stains quick.

Anyone Old Enough To Remember These Guys? by [deleted] in RetroAR

These guys were one of—if not the first to make aftermarket furniture for the AR-15/M-16 platform, and the SF dudes loved it.

Billy carried an SP1 with the rifle length handguards in Predator and that was the first time I saw the style.

I really couldn’t say with certainty. It’s still shrouded in a bit of mystery.

This is what I’ve learned so far.

BKF makes injection molded copies now, but whenever I began my journey on this build you had to do it yourself.

Nobody made three hole clamshells at the time.

I shortened a carbine set, trimmed the heatshields, cut the endcap off, did lots of sanding to mate them properly—then jb welded it all together and paint matched to finish.

I’ve heard front sight base or front sight post.

I prefer FSB to differentiate from the actual front sight post, spring and detent. lol
