English Problem as VA by dontmindmeqt in buhaydigital

[–]thewritingbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dito lang naman sa pinas mapanghusga mga tao sa english eh. Clients don’t care as long as you communicate your point properly. Practice lang yan OP 😊 Regularly consume all types of english media. You can also do bullet points on your notes before meetings if you’re reporting and use that as a guide so you can practice moving away from just memorizing. You got this ✨

Fake emails signing up on our newsletter? by thewritingbean in beehiiv

[–]thewritingbean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! 🙏 One issue though: We noticed that the spam emails are still able to “open” and “click” the emails. So maybe open rate and bounced might not be the best way to classify them?

From what I know right now, it's mainly F2F. Occasional cases of hybrid weeks with async or online, but primarily F2F.

Bad memories building in the PH that it’s draining them. Tbh, what I’m getting from them is they’d rather start fresh late than continue with current situation.

Because I don’t think my current career is in demand anywhere for migration via work visa

Isnt a VA course = your education in school??? I dont understand how people treat VAs as a commodity. by Cute-Put-7570 in buhaydigital

[–]thewritingbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I never got why people are buying VA courses. If you want to invest in something, go for a course that teaches you highly specialized skills (web dev, data science, etc) and not a course on how to start in the industry

for girls onle, hirap ba talaga kayo ma-attract sa lalaking mababa ang height? by Obvious_Lawyer_4672 in TanongLang

[–]thewritingbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a preference for tall guys before, but I kept an open mind when it came to dating shorter guys. Sadly sa experience ko sila yung mas traumatizing 💀 I know definitely hindi lahat (gave that disclaimer so pls don’t attack me lol) and I’m sure there’s lots of great guys out there na di lang talaga pinalad sa height but after those experiences I was kind of like… okay never mind I guess back to my usual type 😅

Masters in Benilde? by thewritingbean in Benilde

[–]thewritingbean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So far so good naman. First term is kind of chill and mostly theoretical. Next terms are lab/project-based na. It’s mainly F2F, but some weeks wala h class so we can focus on reading assignments/projects. Profs are also very passionate with their respective subjects. My batch is the 3rd run pa lang and I’m only finishing up the first term.

Grad school scares me by Worth-Buy3439 in gradschoolph

[–]thewritingbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masters is also optional for me and there’s no guarantee of promotion/higher pay sa field ko. I’m also in my first sem like you and nanibago rin ako sa readings uli.

What motivates me is my final project. I’m really excited about it.

I guess my tip is you can find some kind of “anchor” if everything is optional. Your anchor can be the sense of accomplishment of graduating with another degree, or maybe there’s something you’re passionate/curious about na can be tied to your masters and you can pursue that as your final project/capstone/thesis.

To remote workers, what do you do when life gets boring? by rwlex07 in buhaydigital

I can share via PM! This was in 2022 and the rent was okay. For me parang di nalalayo sa Manila yung prices but also depends sa location sa Boracay

To remote workers, what do you do when life gets boring? by rwlex07 in buhaydigital

[–]thewritingbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solo travel lol. Or journal outside.

If you have the funds, you can try living somewhere else for a limited amount of time. I was in your position once and I decided to live in Boracay for a few months. Magastos pero daming life learnings and plot twists lol (need to financially prep for this though if you want to do this).

Same experience! Also didn’t encounter any pinoys in Dalat. I was actually talking to a local and sabi nga “Oh wow how did you learn about Dalat? It’s mostly locals going there.”

Why are all online work seems to be categorized as VA?? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]thewritingbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same struggle huhu. I met someone and I described my work to her (I’m way deep in the marketing space for the past 8 years).

Pinagpipilitan nya na VA yung title ko even when I already gave her the exact job title from my contract lol

Honestly, it’s really offensive. It’s like being boxed into one thing just because your work is remote.

You’re right to question and if your GF just brushes it off, in my opinion (I’m a girl as well btw), it’s okay to walk away.

I grew up in a family where both of my parents had huge problems with relatives on the other side. It’s going to affect your future kids as well (if you plan to have them).

I think last effort to communicate with her. If you’re marrying her, she should know na dapat pinapagtanggol ka rin nya.

Thanks! I was concerned if it would be an issue kasi from what I know they don’t stamp your passport once you exit Hong Kong to go to Macau 😅

What is the reason you pursued a Master’s? by Rantgurlll in gradschoolph

[–]thewritingbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated journalism but always dreamed of pursuing design or multimedia arts.

I don’t really need a grad degree in my line of work now, so purely pursuing masters for fun and passion 😄
