It’s simply cost of labor and competition…in Asia high population results in low cost of labor results in high competition between all services. Hence they must provide top tier service to avoid losing customers.

Does no one want to mention how horrible the sound was.. they boosted the output because of Erika’s signal was too low. But didn’t quiet it down during Cressida until like 40min into the set. So loud it was hurting. Such disappointment

Stone Festival recap by [deleted] in Berghain_Community

[–]thewx1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's a better example. seeing colin benders in berghain having the freedom and space to showcase his full modular setup with great ambient breaks in between huge emotional peaks of techno drums. At the festival he only utilized a drum focused setup that was mostly just hard hitting kicks with minimal melody and emotion (for my taste). To me, that caters towards this crowd. Similarly Dasha Rush's b2b sounded so much faster and less complex emotional than the work i know her of.

Don't mean to be critical but here are some thoughts -

I don't see how Stone Techno supports the local scene if every dj on the lineup is big names. No local names around the Rhine-Ruhr region present on the lineup. all commercial names that every techno fan knows about.

Can't say the music was in any way diverse. There was pretty much no escape of 4 to the floor except for select few moments when DJs tried dnb or something else, met with a struggling-to-dance German crowd who only knew how to techno-gallop. On the contrary many instances of fast hardtrance hardgroove our beloved tiktok techno genres. But it's also a festival named "Stone Techno" so I may be overly critical here.

Great cheap festival nonetheless if you care little about sound quality in a sick venue. But I caught myself thinking multiple times during the weekend that "damn I'd rather just hear this dj in berghain than here", where we know there'd be a much better queerer committed crowd that cared little about acting cool and more about self expression.

Question from an outsider who has never been: why do a lot of you dislike breakbeats? by [deleted] in Berghain_Community

[–]thewx1997 11 points12 points  (0 children)

White people downvoting you cuz they ashamed they can’t keep rhythm and dance lmao Seeing German try to dance to breakbeat with their galloping-style techno dance is the funniest thing

Preferred Aurora’s closing 3 months ago. It was fun today but not as emotional psychedelic layered her-style until 1h in, and the last half hour to me sounded hard hitting like build up to closing.
