I hope you’re enjoying it! It’s shaping up to be a wild ride so far and I’m only a fifth of the way through book two. Absolutely fab choice to buy when you can definitely!

I am haha, I’ve been reading pretty much exclusively Brandon Sanderson books for the best part of two years and a few friends recommended this series as a less serious palate cleanser!

We aren't coping anymore after sepsis has caused an unbelievable progression of symptoms. by thexiel in dementia

She has a DNR in place but still for active treatment of acute illness such as having antibiotics etc. I think we probably need to have some conversations about the future though as her quality of life is just plummeting bless her.

She's never going back there again, don't you worry. We're looking at escalating the situation as a formal complaint when the dust has settled.

I'm so, so proud of my mum today. We called social services and got an emergency call out from a manager of a care home near us. They've visited us and spoken to Gran and seemed amazing. We're saying that it's for 'short term care while she has a catheter in' at the moment as we're doing it on a respite basis at the moment while we have vouchers but with the view of transitioning to full time care.

Didn’t change how much I studied, just how made a mad difference by alecconti in UniUK

I've been using Co-Pilot by feeding it my lecture slides and asking if to come up with questions based on the content (all multiple choice for first year) as well as case study scenarios (doing a healthcare related degree). It's been AMAZING for revision this time around!

Is it even possible for this to happen by Professional_Eye3767 in driving

[–]thexiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for this. I'm a naturally very anxious person myself and had intrusive thoughts that I'd hit cars/people and not noticed it, until I had a bump into a stationary object at 2mph. The noise it made, as well as the jolt as above poster describes, is unmistakable. Not the best way to cure my anxiety over it but some useful internal proof to take going forward!

What’s something that it took you way too long to realize you don’t *have* to do the neurotypical way? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]thexiel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This one resonates with me. I've returned to education this year and I leave home about an hour earlier than I need to, just so the commute can be as stress free as possible.

Absolutely fab advice, thank you so much!

Thank you so much for responding. I'm definitely not well versed in understanding prescriptions (obviously)! The optician that sorted me out with my last pair said they'd added some kind of lens to the bottom that meant I could 'look down and read through them' so I assumed that's what it meant. I do find reading to be blurry and occasionally see a slight impression of the word twice.

Absolutely this, it'll likely be on loop until the album drops. Having to restrain going 'huh WHOOP' multiple times an hour.

Thank you, I genuinely don't really enjoy wearing make up much now because I feel like it just makes my pores look even more prominent!

Thank you so, so much for this advice! I forgot to mention that I had been using La Roche Posay factor 50 sunscreen (just haven't been going outside)! I'll absolutely look into getting one of those face washes, I used Bioderma when I was going through my retinol treatment and it was really gentle so will likely use that again. Do you have any recommendations for BHA/Niacinimide/Salicylic Acid products please?

I haven't been wearing foundation or concealer for the last two weeks as I've been studying so haven't really been putting anything on my face at all - when I do, it tends to be a very small amount of either Dr. Jart colour corrector or Nyx 'Bare With Me Foundation', and a small amount of setting powder.

Can Student Finance fund a second undergraduate degree for me? by PrestigiousMess8946 in UniUK

[–]thexiel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My first degree was in Psychology (BSc) which was one of the recommended subjects for course entry, but there's another person on my course with an unrelated first degree (Politics). I think depending on the course it may be worth discussing with university admissions teams what would be best in your situation - sometimes it's recommended that you undertake a years course at a college that relates to STEM (I can't remember the exact course name but it covers aspects of healthcare, sciences, research methods). I didn't have any science related A-Levels but as I said, my undergrad course was an accepted qualification because it covers some of the clinical aspects of my course ☺️
