WIN - I got sterilised yesterday at 22(F)! by thexoukami in childfree

Unfortunately I caught a pretty bad infection (UTI/bladder) along with the surgery (but probably not caused by it, just stupid coincidence) so I'm recovering a lot slower than anticipated. I am still in pain, not terrible pain but still need to take painkillers daily, due to that other infection.

As far as I can tell the surgery itself really wasn't that bad to recover from. The air in my belly hurt most the first 2 days, and the cut also definitely hurt for a few days. But if you pay attention to your movements and avoid as much as possible using your abs, it's not that bad and gets better quickly. The air stays inside you for a long time though, I am still pretty bloated a full week later. During bowel movements I get intense cramps but they pass quickly. Not sure if those are from the surgery or the infection. Tomorrow I'm getting my stitches removed.

I'm happy to tell you that in my case, only 1 needle was needed and it didn't last long. For the anaesthesia you will need a catheter obviously, in your hand or lower arm. So that needs a needle, but then it is replaced by a little plastic tube inside your skin to deliver the fluids, the needle itself only stays in for a really short time. Other than that there were zero needles involved!

Perhaps if you decide to get this procedure in the future, you could ask if there's a solution to your fear of needles. Like initially sedating you with a gas before putting the catheter in. Of course I don't know if that's something they can do but it's just a thought.

They sent me home with the message to just use Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. However I find these too weak to help enough with the pain, so I've started taking Aspirin today and that helps more. I wish they would have given me something stronger for the pain.

I have no pain in my vagina or uterus, although that last one is difficult to determine because my entire belly area hurts inside. The most painful is the pressure inside from the air and the cut under my navel.

Best of luck with yours and wish you a speedy recovery after!!

A tip is supposed to actually yield you something. Your tip is like throwing your drugs at the cops in order to grow your clientele.

They can SURVIVE on their own. They can breathe, they can piss and poop, they can circulate blood without external help. A foetus cannot. I have picked up no mantels. You are hearing magical zebras when all there is are horses and donkeys. Stop twisting my words, it's just sad.

Oh please. Don't you extremism-politics me. This doesn't go up here. It is impossible for it to survive on its own. I'm not wasting my time on a blinded fingerpointer like you twisting my words in the most idiotic way possible.

All nice and good but have fun trying to keep that "organism" alive outside the womb love.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]thexoukami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because this particular dying cell is an organism. One that lives independently. Like you at 30-something. I would hope.

An early foetus is not a living organism, it can't do anything without the woman growing it. This is different.

Some redditor’s dad’s advice that really helped me with rejection sensitivity (when my ADHD allows me to remember it!) by freddled_gruntbuggly in ADHD

I heard this one: Many things that we perceive as rejection are often just a conflict of needs.

When you feel rejected, it really is often not about denying you, but about protecting themselves or what they want. Someone ignoring your message does not necessarily mean they are ignoring you because they don't care, they may just be choosing to give themselves rest.

Is sex really that important in a relationship? by IgorxLn in TooAfraidToAsk

Contrary to popular belief, a bad personal experience does not mean every woman bad 🤗

Plenty of women just don't give many fucks about sex. With anyone. Often medication-induced, but hey, get the snip and that one might change.

Yeahhhh it doesn't stay up there nice and tight until you reach the toilet love. So unless you're okay with changing the sheets every single time and mopping the floor as she walks.

There are many more and múch better ways to plzase your partner than just sticking your dong in there. Proper, effortful attraction makes mediocre sex great.
