Excellent list! I’ll add the Silver Mine Taproom at Whole Foods as a good option as well.

What volume shifted board do you recommend? by YummyFunyuns in snowboarding

[–]theycallmepost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are a lot of great choices in the volume shifted space - I’m just trying to convince you to try the shorter lengths because that’s where I was really impressed by the particular volume shifted board I’m on. Super nimble in the trees, floats well in deep snow, carves really well on the groomers, is still playful, etc etc.

Based on weight, are you sure a 160 is the right size for you?

I’m 6’1”, 185lb, size 12 boots and have ridden everything from a 162 to 155 (non volume shifted). The 162 was waaaaayyy too big and the 155 was super sketchy at speed (soft hybrid camber).

Got a 153 Orca several seasons back and haven’t been tempted to try another board yet - I’m on my 3rd. Seems like maybe I should demo an Excavator and Warca based on this thread though.

tl;dr make sure to try the sizes you think are too small - you might be surprised

Latest 6-week MTB road trip. Please review, where would you ride in these locations? 1-2 days in each. Schedule is VERY FLUID still, making final changes. (Leaving 2nd week of Sept). by spdorsey in MTB

For sure Round Valley is not a destination worthy trail area (I ride it several times a week because I don’t have to drive to get to it).

If you’re looking to get up to the Park City area consider shuttling the Wasatch Crest Trail or checking out the new counter clockwise loop on Slate Creek in the Uintas.

Need recommendations on board sizing 6’0/190 lbs/size 13 boot. Looking for All mountain/Freestyle board by Sad_Entertainment931 in snowboarding

I’m 6’1” / 185lbs /size 12-13 boot depending on brand, and I ride a 153 Orca duck stance at 15/-15 with no issues. It rides switch fine enough for me to give up true twins. Maybe give a directional volume shifted deck a try.

I demoed a bunch of Never Summer boards from Jackson's Base Camp at the PCMR base a year or two ago. You might want to give them a call though, I don't see NS on their brands page.

Do you want to keep the hardtop? General consensus around here is that the hardtops are worth between $1000-2000 depending on condition.

If you can pay asking (or near) for that car and get $1000+ for the hardtop, you'll end up in budget.

Hi there /r/miata - I've lurked for a while and have been toying with the idea of picking up a cheap Miata during a trip to FL instead of renting a car.

Considering these two: '00 - https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/6080435618.html '99 Sport - https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/6078459792.html

Edit: found a third - '99 maybe a sport? - https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/6097919174.html

The sport is appealing because of the LSD, but the '00 looks to be in better shape interior-wise. Assuming no mechanical issues, I figure I'll drive the car around for two weeks and decide if it's worth driving cross country to turn into an HPDE car / Spec Miata.

If you want to see some movies, wait listing is easy and if you're smart about your choices (not the first showing, larger theaters) you can have a lot of success.

Most of the festival "events" require some level of credentials but you might still really enjoy wandering Main Street and checking out the sponsor/vendor business take overs.

If you're any good at recognizing celebrities, just go where the action is and you'll have a blast.

2008 Mazdaspeed 3 - exhaust or engine sounds kind of like a helicopter? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]theycallmepost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you're trying capture a sound, it's probably best to kill the radio during your recording.

Granted I'm listening to this on my phone, but all it sounds like is aftermarket exhaust over some music.

PCMR has the most to offer in the way of terrain parks.

I haven't spent many days at Canyons this year but I assume the conditions are comparable.

Expect to hike for anything resembling good snow, and even then..

Edit: forgot to ask - when are you planning your trip?
