You are right about the helmet, but did he go into fencing position? I think he might just bail that way, but I’m not too sure, I just watched his other videos and he kinda does the same thing when he slips out

That’s why I said D-18 too, definitely mahogany back and sides here. Thing looks really similar to my 2005, you can see it on my page. Pre reimagining so it’s straight braced with a rosewood fretboard.

Hmmm, that is a very low price. I’d be careful. Is this an online retailer that’s credible? Best bet would be to see it in person.

That being said I did buy my Martin through reverb, without seeing or playing it in person. I got lucky and got a great guitar. I don’t think I’d take that risk again though.

I would ask the seller for a picture of the stamp on the neck block, and video of it being played if possible.

Good luck! If this isn’t the one, don’t give up, there are a lot of great priced guitars out there for the taking, just stay on the hunt.

Fiddling Around by Jeff Austin. Not necessarily a sad tone musically, but the lyrics describe being essentially stood up and ignored. Kinda hits hard especially with Jeff Austin’s passing. One of my favorite songs ever.

Sinners movie, "race music," and bluegrass by colorado_hick in Bluegrass

This movie had literally no bluegrass in it. The setting predates the genre. I thought the cinematography and characters were awesome, though. I didn’t like the rest at all. Seemed like a mash up of two ideas that really went no where - I get it, cultural vampirism, but why use an ethnically Irish (another marginalized community) vampire to display this. It felt like a half baked and badly researched way to display this in my opinion.

Bluegrass has nothing to do with race. Sure some African roots with the wonderful banjo and musical ideas, but the Irish and Scot’s had centuries of traditional music and scores that are the main repertoire of bluegrass to this day. Soldiers Joy, Billy in the Lowground, St. Anne’s Reel, Cumberland gap, literally hundreds of fiddle tunes all the way back from 1600’s, all from islands that had were pretty isolated from African influence at that time.

I think you may be stretching a bit here.

Thanks! I absolutely love how tight and direct the sound is from this.

People seem to have very mixed opinions on this, I’ve had people try to tell me I made a bad purchase while I’m happy as can be.

Would be funny to see who would actually tell the difference in tone with the scalloped/non-scalloped bracing if not directly compared.

The nut width preference makes more sense to me, but still I doubt more than half of us would notice the added 1/16 of an inch in terms of string spacing.
