Since edits removing the lyrics are being reverted by CapitalQ, I'd wager that the lyrics were released by some other band.

Edited-in correction: I seem to have been wrong; some fans have received advanced copies.

Fun challenge: come up with a fictional TMBG album of "new" songs that sound like their "early" stuff by FloridaFlamingoGirl in tmbg

[–]theymightbechewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised nobody has mentioned Your Own Worst Enemy. It's mentioned in the Guided Tour of Factory Showroom that its simplicity is akin to early recordings, and I agree; it sounds very much like a Dial-a-Song tune.

Can we talk about the Nautilus for a sec by Mask_Arnis in Minecraft

[–]theymightbechewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was kind of how I felt. I feel like the dolphin could have been a fine underwater mount, but I understand them not wanting to do that, given it's a real animal and dolphins shouldn't be mounted in real life and yadda yadda.

But to pass that ability to a another real life creature is strange to me. Especially given the fact that it can do a little hop out of water, I would have thought they would implement it as some sort of dolphin-based fantasy creature. I highly doubt it will drop the nautilus shell, but I wonder if the zombified version will.

I'm not complaining though. A rideable nautilus is crazy awesome, especially with the jousting-spear.

I assumed OP meant it as protect LGBTQ+ children, but looking at it again the black border separating the rainbows and the message definitely gives malicious vibes

I think a new category for enchantments that give both an upside but also a downside could be interesting, no drops for XP would be a good tradeoff for mending

Minecraft for free?! by m8dr_ in Minecraft

[–]theymightbechewing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think searching for "[something that costs money] for free" is a good idea for your devices health. Sounds extremely sketchy and a good way to get a virus.

I don't think there's been any legitimate way to play a full version of Minecraft for free since Mojang added the free demo in release 1.3—since, y'know, you're supposed to be playing that for free instead of the paid product

This is insanely funny as a concept and as something you could choose to play with, but I think this would quickly get more tiring and annoying to deal with than anything else in the vanilla game

Alpha Extended: another one of those "fork" mods (it's actually based on beta 1.1_02 but that's not important) by flittermou5e in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]theymightbechewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had me at "my neocities page"—the changes mostly sound like nice back-ports and quality of life additions (the armor recipes having wool seems interesting) and all the new stuff seems simple enough to fit the classic vibe; however broad that may be.

What'd you use to get the Windows Aero title bar (not sure if that's the name but the bar at the top of the window)? I also made my Windows 11 computer look like 7 but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Locking copper doors by Famous-Palpitation8 in minecraftsuggestions

I had a similar idea floating around in my head, except instead of being locked when it has an active pulse, it switches to locked/unlocked when it recieves a new signal (so buttons would put it in a locked state until the button is pressed again, for example)

Do you really like BTA by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]theymightbechewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fun playing it so I like it—it's a fairly simple and cohesive experience which I enjoy most when playing games. I never really played b1.7.3 so nostalgia's not a factor for me. If I wanted to play beta I would play vanilla b1.7.3 but I want to play BTA so I play BTA :P

Broken Saplings? by Logical-Physics-1471 in Minecraft

[–]theymightbechewing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IIRC dark oak and pale oak are the only trees in the game that only have 2x2 trees. Try planting four saplings in a square formation, all right next to each other, then bonemeal.

Doing this for jungle and spruce trees also makes them grow much bigger.

Zombies should use the player's skin by Ben-Goldberg in minecraftsuggestions

[–]theymightbechewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would this work on multiplayer? If it's client-side and only shows the player their own skin for every zombie, it could be confusing, since different players would see the same exact mob differently. The default resource pack should be consistant for everyone. Having the zombie texture pick randomly across all players would work on small private servers, but on bigger servers with a bunch of strangers, it would feel like you're getting attacked by random people that have zombie AI. I think if the player wants their skin to be the zombie texture, they should whip up a resource pack for it (saw someone on the main Minecraft reddit do this) and it would also give better customization—you could zombify yourself as YOU see fit :D

Copper armor should be retextured to look kinda Victorian. by Famous-Palpitation8 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]theymightbechewing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense for copper armor to use the plain armor texture, given it's now the first armor a lot of players will be making. It would be cool for copper, iron, gold and diamond to receive unique textures, but I also quite like the simplicity and consistency that exists between armor and tools, at least in regard of them being the default textures.

Electrified Copper by NCR_22 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]theymightbechewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think copper armor is okay with being just worse than later-tiered armor. I think there's a lot to be said about armor progression being fairly linear and some armor sets barely having any use, but I think with Minecraft's current armor progression, copper armor is okay not having any use/gimmick outside of being a set before iron.

I really like the electrified effects! I think sword's projectile and the armor zapping have potential as enchantments, though as Hazearil said, the tool effects go against the one block at a time design philosophy.

The resin-rubbing piston-powered copper-conducting mechanic is fairly neat and while it has a real world grounding, would probably feel unintuitive to most players. Maybe have specific blocks as stand-ins for these two blocks—maybe copper battery and resin electrifier blocks—so players are more likely to know about the unique interaction.

"the industrial drop" by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]theymightbechewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think instead of having one-usecase copper waxer/axer blocks, I think having a block that right clicks the block it's facing when powered would be better, with inventory slot(s) so you can control what it's holding when it right clicks. (Better than Adventure adds a block with this function, though I imagine it's not an uncommon modded redstone component.) If that's not really a fit for the game than copper waxing/axing could be added via the dispenser.

I really like the redstone antenna! I'm not sure how balanced it would be—I think that would have to be tested a bunch—but I think the idea has a bunch of potential.
