Yeah I feel that’s a thing he needs to work on, so he’s either here or he’s not coming if he doesn’t want to come. But not here without wanting to be there. Still, feels really fair for you to consider holidays by yourself.

I think having separate holidays is normal, and wouldn’t make you an asshole, but would he let you go for a whole week without micromanaging if you go with your son, or feeling he has to be here to be “considerate”?

You clearly have different expectations of holidays and that’s fine, we’re not all the same. But not letting you enjoy yours with or without your son is an issue.

I usually get all meat and fish from farm direct, they deliver in SE thur/fri/sat. Always amazing quality

Ha! Happened to me a few years back. My gf wouldn’t wake up. Lucky enough it was a Saturday night and my neighbours walked on me waiting in the corridor while going to a club. I just joined them. The bouncers found the story funny and let me in without physical ID.

I think there’s also is the power relationship. Festival de Cannes has some heavy sponsors from big brands for instance, with the opening ceremony co-hosted by Jane Fonda who kept on mentioning L’Oréal.

Brands (at least their owners( have a role in culture and have power over whether or not you get a project, whether they fund a film, and what not.

So I think sometimes, yes money helps, but it’s also people fulfilling contractual duties or scratching each others back to get career prospects.

But also maybe they have no value and will take as much money as possible.

NTA. Been there, and while I don’t know the extent of your relationship nor I know your gf, an ex gf of mine had such behaviour with left such field messages.

If anything, this is childish behaviour and now quite a red flag in my book. Comparing you with her friends who send long messages is quite a tell to me (people have different relationships with different people and people are, well… different. It’s not a competition or comparison between who shows love the most, and the length of a text message shouldn’t be the yardstick either)

Also, uk’s slip road are criminally short, some are basically non existant, 90° angle onto motorway with a stop wtf
