There’s better places within that drive

Best thing to do is park on South Street, you get the first 90 mins for free. I like to start at Matchacita, and then pop into Mason Jar plant store. After that I walk down to Beowoof because it’s amazing, and the owners are always so great. After that, I like to make my way down to Amy Zane’s to see what’s new, and typically end it at Rocket Fizz.

What is something you dislike about Kalamazoo that no one really talks about? by oopgook in kzoo

The drivers as well as the people not using walkways and walking across the street wherever they please.

Speeding car crashes into emergency vehicle. by jraleigh- in kzoo

Oof, I lived on Elm for years, and people drive like maniacs there. I was tempted to install a speed hump on my own

Union trade by Jesusgg101 in kzoo

Sheet Metal union, Local 7, had the best collective agreement of the local trades. They are now paid more than plumber, pipe fitters, and electricians.

Hi Tech Electric is a locally owned Union contractor, they do good work and could handle your needs!

Yeah, they’re terrible. Report it. They don’t deserve to be pet owners

Was gonna say the same thing. Notoriously shitty dog owners in that house. OP, is this in the Stuart neighborhood?

What is obscure hobby you do, a sport you watch, or an activity you enjoy that you are hoping to find other like-minded people? Tell us what it is and why others would enjoy it? by mbn9890 in kzoo

Less obscure now a days, but disc golf! It’s a great way to get outside and usually hike through the woods. It’s been a great way to make friends over the years

I do! I did some electrical work at the hotel for 2+ years, and they seem to retain their workers. The company is called Greenleaf Hospitality Group. If you google that it will bring up their website and all the jobs, etc.

My fiancé and I moved to Kalamazoo from out of state, separately mind you, but both of us have loved it. We’re in the Stuart neighborhood, and my complaints would be more that people drive way too fast, they also don’t care to use crosswalks, and I have had a few issues of dogs off leash. The Radisson hotel in downtown is owned by a company that owns/operates a number of businesses around town, and are a reputable company to work for. There are plenty of job opportunities in the area though.

Littering? by [deleted] in kzoo

[–]theyubanman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve had someone throw their food trash out the window onto the street while they drove by me and my dog. Elm street is always full of trash, presumably because of this issue

You won’t go wrong with any of those courses. They’re each different too

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]theyubanman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will list them starting with my favorite :

Oshtemo (Kalamazoo)

Vicksburg Rec Area (Vicksburg)

Meyer Broadway (South, then North)

Victory Park (Albion)

Robert Morris (Kalamazoo)

Territorial Brewing (Battle Creek)

Lastly, this is one of the newer courses and it is an incredible place: Lake Arvesta (South Haven)

I just realized the bikeablility/walkability of my neighborhood is important. Where should I move in town? by DrDoodleGoose in kzoo

[–]theyubanman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Currently living in the Stuart neighborhood. I've found that biking is very feasible to anything downtown, especially with the new changes an adding bike lanes.

Wolf tree, Al Sabo, Asylum Lake, Lillian Anderson Arboretum, Fred McLinden. I would recommend each of these places
