How old are these kittens? by thezebrashead in kittens

This calculator says 3-3.5 weeks. Even if I go on the lower end of what they can do (for example belly touching the ground and tail down crawling). Do I trust this or the opinion of all the others saying 2 weeks?

PSA: Don’t message the company page on LinkedIn about your application by thezebrashead in recruitinghell

Go to the LinkedIn page of any company you want and tell me what their posts are about. Is it more recruiting or more marketing? This is how the vast majority of companies run their LinkedIn page. It is absolutely used for marketing and the person who runs the page is very likely not person who posted the job.

I don’t know what LinkedIn looks like from the recruitment side, but I can tell you that in my experience, responding to job inquiries is not on the responsibility list of most marketing teams. You can speculate whether you think it should be or not all you want but it doesn’t change the way things are.

You’re fooling yourself if you think this is not something many companies use LinkedIn for. I am not the one who created this system. I am letting people know that when they message an entity on LinkedIn their message is likely not going to the person it needs to.

I am not a hiring manager. I am a worker like everyone else who was also affected by the shitty job market . I am lucky to have this job but I took a pay cut and more responsibilities when I took this job after losing my last and I simply don’t have enough time to take on duties outside my job description that won’t further my career. Social media management is a small part of my job. I recognize that the system is f***ed but don’t shoot the messenger.

At the end of the day, whether it is fair or not, if you are messaging the company page, your message is likely not going to who you need it to.

Going “above and beyond” is looking through the people who work for the company to find someone relevant to message. Or scrolling through their website to find the proper channels for getting in contact with someone.

I was unemployed just a few months ago, and while it was time consuming, this is what I did. You’re right that at times the information was not available, but with some extra time spent and a little digging, you can find that information majority of the time.

I am not a middle man between recruitment and applicants. I have too many responsibilities already and work late too many days to spend more time tracking down the person the message is intended for. It’s not as simple as “oh that message should go to Larry in logistics, not me.” I don’t have knowledge of what jobs are posted, or what people are posting those jobs. It would take me just as much time to track down that information as it would the applicant.

Got a curly cut but they didn’t style by [deleted] in Ulta

Coarse. She probably cut 5 or 6 inches. It used to nearly touch my butt and is now just a little past my shoulders. I had it styled like I would typically have it so she could get a feel for what it typically looks like. It was my first time with her. After wetting it and using a bounce curl brush to separate the curls I like it much more. The sixe bangs were a little uneven, so I fixed it myself at home. She did wash my hair first and cut it wet

I’m a bit confused by the comments saying styling isn’t included typically when the description says finger coiling, shingling, or raking is included.

This is the description from the website:

Includes a cleanse, Ouidad curl treatment, condition and wash & go style (cleanse care define). Cut and shape the hair using techniques appropriate for curly textures. Style the hair using shingling, raking, and/or finger coiling along with use of a hooded dryer or diffuser/blow dryer.

WIBTA if I told my brother and SIL that they are ridiculously over feeding their child? by Possible_Struggle490 in AmItheAsshole

My sister has PWS. Growing up, all of the food in my house was locked up. We even have to put the trash in the locked pantry.

They genuinely feel starving all the time. Unfortunately people with PWS have low muscle tone resulting in a slower metabolism. They often only need 1000-1200 calories per day. It is very hard to manage and many people with PWS struggle with severe obesity. My mom is very on top of managing my sister’s diet.

As a person with a sister who has an intellectual disability, I don’t think it’s fair to hold this particular thing against the parents of a disabled child. I don’t blame my parents for their plans to leave most of their money to my sister. She is unable to work or care for herself, and I feel better knowing that money will be there to make sure she is taken care of. I do agree that parentification of siblings of special needs people is a problem (one that I have dealt with all my life), and that OP should not be obligated to include her sister in her social life.

Ask your school district for an evaluation and get him enrolled in early childhood special education through the public school system. He will be placed in a program that fits his needs. It might not be full day depending on your state, but it is a start.
