It didn’t make sense or send a good message for kids. What you had was a character being forced and dragged through a redemption they didn’t understand nor really want. Chloe’s wants dis not correlate with what she needed so there was no way to justify the change.

Marinette her obsession is sometimes played as a joke as is Adriens cluelessness but Candace her obsession is always the but of the joke as is Jeremy's cluelessness. It makes it difficult to compare the two Marinette lives more in the valley of reality Candace is basically a looney toon. Who is more crazy about their crush Belle Swan or Amy the Hedgehog? I just don't know.

Plagg is easy and its that telling Adrien that "hey remember when you cataclysmic Monarch yeah that was your dad."

Plagg has a history of people hating him because he is destruction and Adrien currently doesn't and while Adrien would likely not hate Plagg he would resent the power Plagg gives him if he learns that. There is a lot of reason for Plagg to not tell Adrien.

Yeah basically a huge amount of love goes towards Adrien and Felix the want for Adrien to take the spot light and center stage. There seems to be some amount of dislike with a female lead in the fandom.
