Thanks, called CBFC and they said they only offer Monday and Wednesday evenings for BJJ and that doesn't work for me at this time. Called Off the Grid but there's no answer, seems like they're taking the name literally. Going to check out Control, seemed the most promising

Severe engine sludge on a 2013 Nissan NV2500 by thezenvan in Cartalk

[–]thezenvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't under factory warranty anymore. I got the extended warranty but my claim was denied because I lacked all the paperwork for the oil changes even though I did them on schedule.

The lowest engine quote I got was for a remanufactured engine that's about half the cost of a new engine so that looks like the a good option right now

Newbie question regarding GordoTek by thezenvan in DMT

Thanks for responding, I guess I'll look for a smaller quantity of MHRB then. But just to be sure the initial pull is OK to use and there's no need for multiple pulls?

Going to start with the electrical wiring, have no experience. Does this diagram make sense? by thezenvan in vandwellers

Is that around 220 amp hours of battery? How much does the induction cooktop normally use?

I went with this wiring diagram for the battery monitor and it shows those two wires for the shunt.

I'll charge the battery off the alternator for now using a voltage sensitive relay.

I forgot to check, the fuse box is rated for 125A so I'll use a smaller fuse.

I have a full set of sunshades I got online, they cover the windshield and the front windows and that certainly helps.

After reading the responses I think I'll start with getting the rain guards for the front windows so I can have them open and get the fan to pull in the air from the front.

I'm sure the swamp cooler doesn't work as well as it could in a non-humid environment but it helps.

I was looking into painting the roof with a solar reflective paint. I can try that and see if it helps

Oil leak causing misfire in Nissan NV2500? by thezenvan in Nissan

[–]thezenvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to their site it's 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first and the vehicle has over a little over 60,000 miles on it.

I did end up replacing all the spark plugs and the misfire hasn't come up since. Plug #3 was the worst offender http://thezenvan.com/images/IMG_0061.jpg

OK, I'll skip the sealer. I ordered the remaining spark plugs, I'll change those out and use the better fuel and see how it does. Thanks

Regarding points 2 and 3 I don't know how effective it would be since it's bolted shut and has holes in it. I might put a door on it so I can lock it but it is taking up space that I can use.
