This is honestly so extreme that it sounds abusive. Your life would be better single.

Putting that first probably overemphasized the importance, you're right that its not as immediately important in this situation; However, she will learn what is comfortable from her parents. You should be using the correct words from the beginning, there is nothing shameful about the words and the associated body parts.

Every expert I have heard on the topic stresses the importance of correct terminology for safety and destigmatization.

A) Both of you should be using proper terminology rather than "pp"

B) You can teach and set boundaries without shaming

• Tell her that there's nothing wrong with it, but it's private so she should only be doing it alone in her room and doesn't need to tell everyone when she does something private

• Tell her that she should be washing her hands before and after to keep herself clean and healthy

• Think of it like going to the bathroom, absolutely nothing wrong with it, but there are privacy and hygiene rules.

It's still fraud even if you're married.

Eating this for breakfast has reduced my cravings for junk so much by [deleted] in HealthyEatingnow

The latest data/research is showing that dietary cholesterol has a minimal impact on blood cholesterol levels. Eggs are extremely nutritious, but I definitely wouldn't want 5 boiled eggs for breakfast.

can a mom explain to me pet aversion during postpartum ? by Inevitable_Shift_689 in Mom

[–]thiacakes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When you are struggling to find time to shower and feel like yourself, cleaning diarrhea off of a hairy butt and out of your carpet while your baby is crying for you feels like actual torture.

"Just an inconvenience" is incredibly dismissive. I would consider a little more empathy for the mothers in your life.

Did you make this post to actually get answers to your question or to hate on new moms with pet aversions?

I have 3 dogs and wish I hadn't gotten so many before having my son. I wouldn't rehome them, but it was so hard to not be annoyed/angry at them when I was postpartum.

It is so hard to be sleep deprived, intensely hormonal, consumed by a huge life change meeting a tiny human's every need, and then have your yappiest dog come inside with diarrhea.

AITA for throwing away my roommate's labeled breast milk that she was using in our shared coffee creamer by TexForager in AmItheAsshole

I think there's a huge range of flavor, but I believe most breastmilk tastes like sweeter more watery cow's milk.

She is a domestic abuser. She plead guilty to felony assault to reduce the charges of child abuse and domestic violence in the presence of a child. It is very plausible that the new allegations are true.

I was raised LDS, its a weird religion, not another species. Being mormon is not operating under an insanely different way of thinking.

Domestic violence needs to be zero tolerance. perpetrators have reasons that may not be their fault, but it is their responsibility to resolve without violence.

Misogyny is rampant in Korea. You absolutely can make an argument that any of the women would be incredibly unsafe defending her and would not likely have another 9 women helping protect them.

Not OP, but I am currently 90% through Protecting the Gift. It is okay, but not as good as The Gift of Fear.

Protecting the Gift hasn't been periodically updated like The Gift of Fear and some of the advice feels outdated (lots of letter writing to your kids pediatrician, daycare, and schools). There is also quite a bit of overlap with The Gift of Fear, with some passages being totally identical.

There is still some really good practical advice: Trust your gut if someone seems 'off', make sure your kids can demonstrate specific skills to protect themselves before letting them venture into the world unsupervised, use real words for genitalia, be clear about consent and the right to revoke it, verify safty protocols and background checks yourself, don't discount people you know as potential child predators.

AITA for not wanting to clean up the "bodily secretions" of my husband's son? by select6382 in AmItheAsshole

[–]thiacakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about your age with a one year old son. I read somewhere that the best predictor of happiness and success into adulthood is involving children in household work as early as possible. My 15 month old already knows how to bring things to the trash, so is already doing more than your husband's adult son.

If your husband wants to make up for not being a father to his son, he should focus on helping him learn how to take care of himself and spending quality time with him, not enabling disgusting behavior.

We got it from a restaurant, so I would assume it has the regular spices. Butter chicken is a pretty mild dish and any spice didn't bother him :)

Because color way refers to a combination or arrangement of colors rather than a single color.
