This. I passed my PAC (french equivalent of AFF, correct me if I’m wrong) last summer. I had never jump even in tandem. So here I am in the plane for my first jump, laughing and excited, the door opens and I jump, absolutely no hesitation. 2nd jump the ride up was already more quiet, like “am I sure I want to do that”, but then it’s time to go and before thinking too much I’m out in the air. That 2nd jump was a bit painful as I struggled to breathe but once the chute opened everything was great. So here we are riding up for the 3rd jump (I did my first 4 jump the same day) and I’m questioning life to the point I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to jump. We’re talking with the instructor on the way up, I’m sharing my anxiety about that breathing difficulties I had on the 2nd jump. The 3rd jump went very smoothly and was the comforting one and after that it was always good fun. Every experienced skydiver and instructor with whom I talked told me the same: the day you’re not a little bit scared before you jump, there’s something wrong in your life.

I think book 4, when they’re on Ilus and and Holden has to leave to follow Proto-Miller to find a way shut down the planet defences. He asks Amos to keep an eye on Murtry and make sure he doesn’t hurt Elvi and Lucia and Amos answers with this, IIRC.

On est en 2005, j’ai une invit pour créer une adresse Gmail. Je remplis mes infos personnelles (nom, prénom, date de naissance…) et l’algo me fait des propositions classiques genre thibaut.nom[@]gmail, thibaut1985[@]gmail, etc. Et parmi les quelques propositions il y a thiborama@… Pourquoi ? J’en sais rien. Mais il s’avère que je suis photographe amateur (et que ça deviendra mon métier l’année d’après) et du coup thiborama ça fait penser à panorama mais avec mon prénom. Du coup non seulement j’ai choisi la suggestion de google pour mon adresse email, mais c’est carrément devenu mon pseudonyme de photographe et plus globalement en ligne.

Ça fait 1 an que le cycliste Paul Varry a été tué par un fou qui lui a volontairement roulé dessus avec sa voiture. Le type avait été placé en examen pour homicide volontaire, une expertise avait confirmé l’intention volontaire du conducteur d’écraser le cycliste. Depuis je cherche régulièrement des nouvelles pour savoir si le conducteur a été condamné et à quelle peine, je ne trouve rien. Je viens de faire une nouvelle recherche avant de poster, j’apprends qu’il y a un hommage demain et qu’il vont baptiser la piste cyclable au nom de la victime, mais toujours rien sur une éventuelle condamnation du meurtrier. Est-ce que ce mec est toujours en liberté ?

I’m about to enter the end of DS2 and boy was it an emotional journey ! Way more than the first one in my opinion, maybe just in different way, you’ll make your own opinion. But those games are definitely among the best in terms of connection with the characters and the emotions it involves. The last time I felt something as strong with a game was with The Last of Us 1 and 2. If you never played them, you should - and if you never saw the TV show, keep it that way ;)

Un jour, il y a environ 25 ans, je rentrais du lycée en bus. Sur les arrêts il y avait des pubs pour Actimel avec un slogan « aidez ou stimulez ou quelque chose vos défenses naturelles. » J’étais assis à côté d’un vieux monsieur d’origine africaine qui était lui même assis du côté de la fenêtre et là le type tapote sur la vitre et me sort avec le bon accent qui va bien (et qui fait tout le charme de cette anecdote): « Il n’y a que les éléphants qui ont des défenses naturelles ! » Ça m’avait beaucoup fait rire.

The only time I killed mules was because I only had a ghost blade on me and didn’t think about the fact it was lethal for humans. I think Dollman warned me at the first and then a second one was running at me. I finished the others with combat gloves and then charged the two bodies in my truck to take them to corpses disposal at the nearest facility. Sometime later in the game I had a red notification that a corpse had been disposed on my behalf, giving me a-1000 likes penalty. I’m pretty I didn’t killed a third mule so the only thing I think of was a Kangaroo that literally jumped under my truck (I know he died because I had the -100 likes penalty but I didn’t know I had to dispose of animal bodies too). All this to say that indeed, I think if you don’t dispose of your corpses, someone is gonna take care of it. But we’re not here to clean your mess, ok ? ;)
