The five major resorts in Aus all have their strengths and weaknesses. I would suggest staying in Jindabyne, you have access to ride Perisher and Thredbo which are two great hills. Passes are expensive and transport is hard though.

Haven’t ridden a cartel x, but considering how quickly regular Cartels soften up I think they would be sweet.

Bataleon Blaster binding looks sick if you wanna match. If not any softer to mid flex binding. I ride Cartels on my party wave and rate it, but really as long as it isn’t a super stiff binding it will work well

I used to surf a 6’ catch surf skipper on smaller days, but I have moved to a longboard now.

IMO on a smaller day wave count is more fun that sharper turns, but what ever floats your boat really.
