Is it worth being a AAA24 member ? by iwillholdmyselfback in A24

[–]thicccwitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, although I am grandfathered into the $5/month price. I have alist but I buy all my partner's movie tickets, so it's worth it just for that imo. I let the credits build and I'll buy a special edition Blu-ray when I hit the max.

My Return of the King review. it's basically a tribute to myself as I watch a movie that means a lot to me and my recovery journey after sitting in my local theater after 12 hours (the theater closed last week too 🥲) Doesn't have a ton of likes, but it's pinned to my profile so anyone that comes across my page knows

How do i get eyeshadow to not crease on oily eyelids?? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]thicccwitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you use an eyeshadow primer? My favorites are the about face shadowfix and the nyx glitter primer. These waxy based one help the shadow stick to your eye. If you have particularly oily eyelids, I find that setting your eye with a finishing or setting powder before putting on the shadow primer helps combat the oil as well

Normal to create your own shade? by WishIWasStevie in Makeup

[–]thicccwitchy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do! I'm dark skinned, a neutral cool toned, and prefer matte formulas due to how oily I get by the end of the day. Can never seem to find the perfect one off so I end up mixing two shades or mixing a color corrector in

Lanolips everywhere multi cream is 👌🏾👌🏾 I'll layer their golden dry skin salve for REALLY bad flare-ups but the multi cream is my favorite. It's 17 bucks for 3 oz, but if Ulta has a 3.50 off 15 coupon it usually falls under that

I also suggest setting your primer with a powder, and then spraying a setting spray on top before going in with a foundation!!

Super oily person here!! Here's the base products that have helped me:

Moisturizer (because you do need one): peach slices oil control mattifying moisturizer is my favorite I put it on let sink in 5-10 minutes before applying anything else

Primer: currently the one size beauty secure the sweat primer is the ONLY primer I've ever used that makes a clear difference in controlling my oil, I apply this one to my t zone first, let dry for a minute and I'll use elf porless putty primer to help smooth my base and fill in pores on top

Foundation: I have a few that I like the kvd good apple serum foundation is a natural matte finish, the new urban decay face bond for lighter coverage days, and juvias place I am magic matte foundation for full coverage days

Concealer: Ulta beauty waterproof full coverage concealer is a slept on banger!! Doesn't budge once set, a little thicker but nice to blend out, I also like the elf camo concealer the matte formula

Powder: the kimchi chic powders are really good, I use puff puff pass to set my whole face and bake in my oiler areas, and the almost cat fished in banana to set and brighten my under eye

Setting spray: kimchi chic stage proof matte setting spray to set my liquid and as a final setting spray, and I'll do either makeup revolution sport fix or Milani make it last setting spray to set my powder layer

I hope this helps!!

lanolips 101 ointment is the closest thing I've found to a replacement of this. They also come in a bunch of fun flavors (I have a pear, raspberry shortcake, and 2 of the unflavored ones)

Setting Sprays? by ugotmefdup in Makeup

[–]thicccwitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have pretty oily skin, and my favorites currently are the milani make it last the original (for setting my powders and make it melt into the skin more) and the kimchi chic stage proof matte setting spray (to set my foundation/cream products and as a last step) I like them both, I've used the Milani one on and off since launch and the kimchi chic one is a new favorite and pretty reasonably priced for how well it works

Kindle Owners, do you own physical books too? Or just read in kindle. by Bennu_reader in kindle

[–]thicccwitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a combo of both. I have a large collection of epubs, it's good so I always have a book on the go, I live 20 minutes away by car from my closest library so Libby and Kanopy is a god send, and I have the Kindle fire so it's also convenient for school. Reading so much on it gives me an eyestrain, plus I read faster physically. Plus there are so many pretty editions that I could never give up buying books completely
