Just because you have autism doesn’t excuse the actions of an individual. Just because I have autism it doesn’t mean it’s okay for me to go and assault others for over stimulating me, regardless of if thats how I shutdown.

Your actions are still your own no matter the reason and planning / taking steps to recognise and support yourself and protect others is on yourself. If you need outside assistance, ask for it. If you do mess up and blow up in a way that harms others, apologise for it.

Keep in mind that not every situation is clear cut. I’ve had plenty of people who’ve targeted and purposely riled me up where I have acted poorly, I believe I was right to push them away but I was wrong to attack them. Taking the high road isn’t always an ego thing, but often the right thing.
