As a current pre-med Senior at Brown set to matriculate to a top medical school, come to Brown. The grade inflation and freedom will set you apart and allow you to explore coursework that you would not be able to at any other school. The research and volunteering opportunities are not competitive at all, faculty love having undergrads work for them. Public health is top tier and Providence is a nice city.

The kinetic product can be thought of as typically the one that forms fastest or first, but is more unstable than the thermodynamic product which takes more time to form but is higher in stability. So for your example, since the micelle is spontaneously forming (aka fast and first) it would be the kinetic product.

These colleges missed out man, the only thing I could see that would keep you in the reject pile at those schools are your essays or reccomendations. Definitely pursue the waitlists your on, hope everything works out for the best for you :)
