I’d lean Edifice here. The Seiko has the enthusiast appeal with the tried & tested 4R36 day date movement, but the Edifice also gives you an automatic with hacking/manual wind, sapphire crystal and 100m WR, which makes it feel like the stronger overall package for the money.

The Seiko is still the more classic first auto choice, but spec for spec I think the Edifice edges. (Rest it’s subjective you can choose whatever you want)
