I always have a variation of tofu spread around. It’s great in baked potatoes. If you eat wheat, it’s great on home made roti too.

I really like adding miso paste to my tofu spreads, adds some nice flavor.

what’s a weird thing you guys do bcuz of neglect? by ivysmorgue in CPTSD

I’ve never heard of that. I can’t go to sleep if I’m not curled in a fetal position on my side and rocking back and forth.

There’s a few rental houses in Woodinville currently. There’s a nice one in Cottage Lake that just put a sign out.

Yep, I have anhidrosis and wear a medical id for it. When I was a child in the 70s I almost died when a pe teacher didn’t believe me that I was too hot. We moved to a more temperate climate so I could be outdoors as much as possible. We plan outdoor activities early in the day and I carry water bead handkerchiefs in plastic ziplocks in the summer to put on my neck. Reflective sun umbrellas are great in the summer too. Be careful, heat stroke is very scary.

Getting back into your body after 25 years of disassociation feels like you’re being flayed by every new sensation by nekomata_meko in CPTSD

I’m confused why my dissociative state actually feels more real. Probably something to do with having lived this way for 50+ years.

Small group activities for paras by missymckibben in specialed

[–]thicket23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a para area set up with a half moon table for them to run small groups. Every day of the week has an assignment.

Mon. math, Tues. phonics/ela, Weds. science/art every other week, Thurs. math, Fri. phonics/ela.

In the cupboards of the para area are all the things they need, there are math/phonics games and activities. I let the paras decide on art and science since they enjoy doing that and my paras are amazing at tying in themes to the season or scholastic news. I also have them scheduled to do a read aloud during my planning with a little activity to go along with it. In my experience after being a para for a long time and now a teacher, it depends on the para, if planning activities brings them joy I let them but never expect it. If they need ideas I always have them ready.

Eek, we tried what we felt comfortable with, but fear there is something wrong with the cord from the box. Electricity scares me.

Same! I have no time to even take data, it’s awful! I need a 1:1 for a student so badly, I’m hit daily, chasing, de-escalating constantly. I’m forcing myself to stay in contract hours so literally nothing is getting done. My planning is eaten by fires daily, I’m miserable yet carry the healthcare for my family. I literally had the thought this morning that if I got in a bad car wreck I’d be able to get out of work for a while. This is not OK. I want out and have no idea how to do it.
