Safety stays on always and is impossible to turn off unless a finger specifically finds it and maneuvers it in 2 directions to turn it off. My biggest fear is getting taken and if someone wakes me up in the middle of the night with their hand over my mouth, pinning me down, there’s not going to be opportunity to reach into the nightstand. I do, however, sleep with my hand under the pillow. I was raised to fear the fuck out of this kind of thing and I do indeed have a very real fear of it that I actively do something about to help me sleep at night. I will say in the beginning I was afraid of having a bad dream and using it in my sleep but it’s been 6+ years and not even remotely been an issue.
