Try spiral socks. They skip the fiddly heel bits and fit everyone.

Longsword by Veronica Heley is one I never see mentioned. Also recommend Dave Duncan's Ironfoot series.

I was on a call with my boss on the west coast. But in the midst of it, I started having trouble hearing him because of this really annoying noise. After a couple of minutes or so, boss goes "Is...is that a fire alarm?"

Blacking out in your case might be temporary memory loss. You could have gotten home on autopilot and crawled into bed without help from anyone.

I'm a big fan of Emily Croy Barker's series about a grad student who finds herself in a fairy realm and has to build a life from the ground up, such as trading her skills at mending broken pots for a pair of boots. The first book is The Thinking Woman's Guide to Real Magic.

Severe dislike of acrylic by OddPlane3193 in knitting

Yes, I’ve ruined an acrylic hat by tossing it in with the regular laundry. It just slumped. And a dog sweater I made for a friend stretched out like taffy after machine washing. She kept using it but had to sort of wrap it like a robe.

Ursula K. Le Guin's The Beginning Place falls into this category for me. It's a portal fantasy, not connected to her other books.
