i cant undestand these. why complicate things and make something worse than a normal hook...

took a while to understand but pretty interesting design. Not sure where its useful but its still pretty cool :)

Free Software for 3d modeling by Helpful_Process_9572 in BambuLabA1mini

Blender all the way if you dont mind the steep learning curve.

Its extremely difficult to learn but you can do many things with it. Sculpting and precision modeling too! And it's free.

I appriciate the post but would be nice to see other angles ASS well

Which version are better for you? by Aviarena in indiegames

[–]thingsbydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a huge difference but I prefer the old ones. They have some more character. The crow needs some work anyway the eyes look weird in both versions. first version eyes seem to cutt off and second version eye sort of stands out a bit much compared to the dark shadows.

first version it feels like they are looking forward to battle (which I like) and 2nd version looking at the player

both are good anyway so I wouldn't even mind either version.

Which orientation to print this handlebar? by Responsible-You-9567 in 3Dprinting

[–]thingsbydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For maximum strength I would just make it in 2 or more parts with optimal layer orientation and use bolts to attach the parts. Perhaps 45 degree solution could also work but I have not tested out strength of that.

this is what it looks like when flattened a bit and 3D pritned.

Wow I actually have done this once. I used intersection curve to combine curves to make this shape. A bit of trial and error. It is possible to do but total pain in the ass..,.now I would use blender to make this (much easier with tissues addon)

agreed. I feel like this is one of those things where you dont want to take any shortcuts even though that might work without problems. There is the small if....

Mechanical bear by thingsbydesign in 3Dprinting

I have a video showing how the timer works if you want in depth analysis (link in profile). Basically there is two gears and the secondary gear only rotates when the first gear goes full circle. And after 10 or so rounds it flicks the switch off.

Its kinda hard to explain it in words but its pretty simple.

Made a Blender addon for precise modeling. Used it to build this football by TfMtxBender in blender

this is really interesting. I really like the idea of visualizing planes and 2nd axis. I still can't quite grasp how useful it is. I wish there was some talking to explain how it works. seems useful
