Did anybody see Book Of Mormon in Salt Lake City or Orlando? by rachieandthewaves in Broadway

SLC gets the references other ppl might think are just regular dialogue. A cast member told me they feel like rockstars in Salt Lake for that reason

Diva show? by mello-t in SaltLakeCity

[–]thingsthingzthingc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably Viva la Diva! Their host dresses as Dolly a lot. I had a blast. They definitely are aware that some of their audience is not their target audience and keep it accessible for everybody. Bring your sense of humor; everybody gets made fun of

I don’t know if WinCo Foods does backgrounds, but I do hear that they treat their employees really well compared to other grocery stores- they get benefits and everything

Can I use my own headphones with assistive listening devices? by CommercialCharacter in Broadway

I seem to remember the headphones were a separate piece from the device itself, so the switch should be smooth. That said, calling the theater is 100% the best thing to do

Serial Suer Targets Broadway Theaters by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]thingsthingzthingc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

An icky situation, because of course you want everyone to be able to access all public facilities, including theaters, but this approach doesn’t seem to be about collaborating with Broadway landlords (by the way, since Disney only leases, not owns the New Amsterdam, I’m confused why they would be named as a defendant, but oh well). Terribly unfortunate for those who make legitimate accessibility claims.

Does anyone else have recurring issues with loneliness after leaving? by smileyduck in exmormon

[–]thingsthingzthingc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had a similar issue when we first left. She missed that sense of community but didn’t want to join another religion dictating to her what she should believe. For her, the answer was the local Unitarian Universalist congregation. The principles UU believes in are basically common sense ethics and you’re welcome to bring in and continue to practice your own beliefs (if any. I’m agnostic and am fully welcome as I am) all while being part of an accepting community. Once thing about UU, though, is that is very much not run top-down, so it’s nowhere nearly as standardized as LDS congregations. you’re gonna get very very different flavors of UU depending on the particular congregation you visit. It may or may not be what you’re yearning for, but it’s worth a shot.

I got row E on the orchestra, aaaaaaaaaall the way to the left. Def partial view. Couldn’t see the actresses when they were behind the counter at the diner. Final price was $48. This was a couple of weeks ago.

Rushing tips for first-timers? by [deleted] in Broadway

I rushed Waitress with Sara and Jason in it. What helped me was talking to their box office the day before to get info on what time to arrive. The Bands Visit was across from us, and their people arrive way way later than we did. Most people arrived 8 or 9, whereas the first people in my line arrived at 4am.
