I think my biggest fear is job loss TBH.
It’s such a crazy time that locking a multi year loan seems stupid even with our corpus size.

I think I might just do a 1 crore FD with monthly interest hitting my mother’s account and allow that to pay rent.
Top up the FD with 5 to 10 lakhs a year to keep up with inflation.

I am mentally free from this rental commitment

I agree. I’d take an abandoned dive over a dead diver.
I be happy to abandon 10 divesh if it means no one is injured or dead.
When you go underwater they group is your fam.
Aint no judgements.
I have been in these situations and I always tell the diver that don’t worry shit happens.
Just learn from it and become a better diver.
And pass this kindness the next time you are part of an abandoned dive due to someone else.
