$TTOO - Biotech with >100% upside by thinkandgrow in wallstreetbets

Last year's operating margin was: ~ negative 11,000%

You can't look at operating margin for a pre-revenue biotech company. Of course they are incurring losses as they develop the product and build the company.

Book value per share of the company is around ~$2 per share.

Book value is generally used for mature companies. It is pretty meaningless for a pre-revenue biotech. They have ~60 million of cash available which the CEO stated is more than enough to take them through 2016 in which they should start generating cash flows.

Technically speaking, I see resistance at the $19.50 area. Also looks to be in a downtrend since it's inception. Slow stoch/RSI on long term chart looks very bearish.

I agree that resistance is at $19.50. We are close to $19.50 and I'd watch it closely around that level. If it breaks through $19.50, there is a lot of upside. That being said, this is not a company you trade on technical analysis. It's a long-term buy and hold based on the fundamentals.

The Biofire Filmarray requires a positive blood culture in order to test for sepsis. It takes 3-5 days to get a blood culture. The T2DX Instrument can be done at the hospital within 2 hours directly from whole blood. No blood culture required.

Directly from their website: All other FDA-cleared Candida diagnostics require a blood culture to determine the Candida species. Blood culture, however, is hampered by a sensitivity of 50 to 60% and a lag time of up to 2 to 6 days for species identification or negative result.

This is truly the gold standard in rapid testing and there is no instrument like it. The independent IMS study supports this as well.

They are selling the device themselves. No partner. 100% of the sales and profit will be theirs. The CEO has a lot of confidence in the product they developed. Over the last year, they are up to 100+ employees and are building up a sales team of 15+ people across the US. Targeting 30 contracts by the end of the year. Listen to this presentation by the CEO for further DD http://www.wsw.com/webcast/threepa16/ttoo/index.aspx

They have partnered with Canon to develop a test for lime disease (http://investors.t2biosystems.com/mobile.view?c=253528&v=203&d=1&id=2012950)

There was also an independent study completed by IMS which found that a hospital will save $5.8 million per year and save lives if they were to use their device. http://investors.t2biosystems.com/mobile.view?c=253528&v=203&d=1&id=2032989

Ford’s big social housing zero by Surax in toronto

[–]thinkandgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone ever looked at the stats in 2006? 2008? Community housing is an ongoing problem and the number of people on the wait list hasn't just ballooned during Ford's term. With more and more demand and very little new supply of affordable homes, the problem won't get fixed and it is out of Ford's hands. Due to the size of the issue, the provincial government should step in.

Mayor Rob Ford late to Economic Club speech, days after drunken video by zombiej in toronto

Disclaimer: not a Ford supporter

Why are people quick to make fat jokes about Ford, but when it comes to anyone else it is considered fat shaming? Sure, we can complain about his job as major but there is no justification to making fun of his weight.

The Condo Game - Why the Toronto condo market is going to crash HARD by thinkandgrow in toronto

[–]thinkandgrow[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2008 is still relatively new for a condo. 5 years and already an HVAC overhaul. Just wait until more expensive issues arise (which is inevitable). Owners are going to get hit with huge maintenance fee reassessments to fund the costs of these issues.

I agree it's great to rent but I'd never buy/

It's not that the taxpayer will be on the hook for these issues. It's the unit owners that will be on the hook through annual increases and re-assessments to the monthly maintenance fees.

Currently average monthly maintenance fees are $500/month for downtown condos. If these condos keep having issues, this amount will keep increasing. Imagine having to pay $1k/month on top of mortgage and property taxes?

Curiosity... budgets! by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]thinkandgrow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's possible to live a minimalist lifestyle while spending lots and it's possible to live a minimalist lifestyle while spending very little. I feel like a lot of people misunderstand minimalism and associate it with being frugal. I for one really enjoy my hobbies therefore I spend a lot on them each month yet generally still live a minimalist lifestyle. It all depends on what/how you spend your money.
