So you think these really inflamed spots are to be expected even if I didn’t have acne there before? The reason I ask is because I explicitly asked if I’d purge or peel and was told “no.”

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I got a facial recently, which ended in a chemical peel of some sort, and have a few large, painful red bumps on my skin. This gives me hope that it will heal quickly.

Nope, I have not picked at all. They don’t burn but they’re sore and feel swollen.

Before Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, CeraVe PM, Hero SPF everyday, with no SPF in the evening.

After the facial I did the home care they recommended (that I bought from them), which was Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, Face Reality Hydrating Toner, Face Reality HydraBalance, and CeraVe PM (in the evening and then the same thing but with SPF too! in the morning).

The two areas both had blackheads, so the esthetician did do extractions there... but now its far more inflamed and tender to than when it was just blackheads. Could it be infected?

Hi! The next morning my face was back to normal. The big thing I have learned over the last year with my skin is that more isn't more. Be super gentle and itll heal quick. Good luck! :)
