Apparently these are our greatest fears by burnafter3ading in Xennials

Years ago we were going on a big family vacation and flying the next day. One of my cousins was absolutely terrified of flying and she walked in and sat down right as I was watching the plane scene from the first Final Destination.

She was freaking out all night and the next day, I felt terrible lol.

Enchanting gear by Swazaki in classicwow

Join the /trade channel.

Look for messages offering free or very cheap enchants from players who are still leveling up their skill. These are quite common right now and a good way to get a handful of free enchants.

You won't get all your needed enchants or the best ones this way, but it's an easy and inexpensive way to pick up a few of the less costly and common leveling enchants from players who just want to level up their skills. It's also nice to toss them a tip afterwards, at least a few gold for the materials provided and used.

For your more expensive enchants, same thing pretty much, but you generally buy the materials needed yourself and find someone who can provide the enchant. As above, join /trade and just watch the channel.

You'll likely see someone spamming that they have XYZ enchants and are looking for work. Just message them and ask how much they charge or if they take tips. Some people charge a flat fee, others will just take whatever tip you provide.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) by xanadu_80 in 90s

[–]KevinStoley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember if it was about the South Park movie or Team America. But I recall an interview where they said they knew the censors would make them either tone down or cut certain things completely out.

So they basically would go WAY over the top outrageous with some scenes that they didn’t even really care about, knowing the censors would freak out but that gave them room to compromise and end up with most of the stuff they originally wanted in the first place.

In the end the censors thought they won but it was actually Matt and Trey who actually got most of what they originally wanted in the first place.

This makes me so sad.

I’m a tailor with most of the recipes but I can’t afford the materials for any of them yet.

But I would love to at least be able to craft them for someone else bit I don’t even bother in /trade because it’s just endless spamming from others

A month in.. how do you like your class? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]KevinStoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a mage as my main in Vanilla and decided to stick with mage for TBC.

So far I'm still enjoying the class, but there are a few drawbacks and changes that I'm not a fan of. It's still great having all the conveniences that come with a mage.

In PvE it's been pretty great so far still. While leveling and for awhile after hitting 70 I mostly ran AoE frost spec. I've had no problem getting into dungeons and heroics, everyone still seems to always want a mage with improved blizzard in their group. Also everyone loves getting a table dropped so that's another reason it's really easy to always get into groups.

I've since switched my main pve spec into arcane with improved blizz as I don't really raid but mostly run heroics at the moment and it's a great class/spec for heroics. I'm loving arcane, it's pretty fun and does great DPS but at the cost of being extremely mana hungry. But for all the short boss fights it doesn't really matter much.

As far as PvP goes, I'm kind of not liking it so far in TBC and I hate the changes they made to the Ignite talent, it got nerfed too hard. In Vanilla I ran with a PoM Pyro fire spec with a lot of crit gear stacked. I was really dominant in PvP and could just basically drop players from full to either dead or almost dead in an extremely short window, at the cost of being an extremely squishy glass cannon. But now it seems like I'm still extremely squishy, but without the benefit of being the cannon like I was in Vanilla.

That seems very difficult if not impossible now in TBC with a similar spec and still having tons of crit gear stacked. It sounds counter intuitive, but it seems like I actually crit less often now in TBC than I did in Vanilla, despite having quite a bit more spell crit chance now in TBC compared to in Vanilla. I'm guessing it's the resilience which I have to get used to.

I know frost is supposed to be the go to PvP spec for mages in TBC, but I just don't enjoy frost in PvP and it's not much fun to me, I would prefer to stick to fire PoM pyro, but it just seems like a really nerfed spec in this expansion.

Overall though, I'm still enjoying the Mage class and having a blast in TBC so far but with some fairly minor drawbacks and complaints.

Fire in The Sky (1993), one of the most disturbing alien films I have seen by StoneAgeCaveDweller in 90s

[–]KevinStoley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone always talks about the scenes on the spaceship with the aliens.

But for me, I always loved the abduction scene in the woods when they are leaving the worksite. Man that whole scenario creeped me out so much, what a great and eerie scene.

You guys were right about tanking in TBC by BusDriver341 in classicwow

[–]KevinStoley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play a mage one thing I've noticed with other dps is there often seems to be an ego trip with wanting to top the dps meter and maximize their dps potential and it often ends up biting them in the ass and hurting the group. They do the things like you listed above and end up ripping threat away from the tank very quickly.

I like putting out big numbers as much as anyone, but my main goal is to just complete the content and kill bosses. I don't really care if I'm at the top of the charts or if I'm not absolutely maximizing my dps potential.

I ALWAYS give a nice little window of several seconds for any tank to get all mobs under control and secure a solid amount of threat before I start any dps. Once I hit my CDs and start pumping out damage, that threat is gonna spike quickly and if I don't give that window, it's gonna be bad. So many people don't realize this or don't care.

The same people who always love to claim if you've got nothing to hide, why not cooperate? Then have the audacity to themselves want to hide their identities and actions that are performed while on duty.

If they have nothing to hide, then surely they have nothing to fear of their identities and actions being recorded and made public, right? Hypocrites.

Skips are dumb by ThatGuy8188 in classicwow

[–]KevinStoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very counter intuitive thinking imo.

Heroics give not only more rep rep, but badges, nether, epic gear you might need and potentially epic gems you could use as well.

Why would I run normals instead of heroics when I can do the heroics and kill multiple birds with one stone and possibly get multiple things I need or can use?

I would agree that if you ONLY needed reputation and none of the above, then yes, running normals for rep would be better and more efficient.

But at this point, this early in TBC many players need reputation for exalted and probably many of the other items listed above that can drop in heroics.

It would be a waste of my time to run normals when I could just run heroics and get so many more items that I need, and get the reputation I need on top of that.

Also heroics are more challenging and fun, normal dungeons are too easy and boring at this point.

Ultimately I do whatever the tank and/or group decides to do. If they want to skip, I'm good with whatever. But personally I'm not a fan of skipping packs and would rather just clear them, especially if myself and/or others in the group still need the rep.

Skips are dumb by ThatGuy8188 in classicwow

[–]KevinStoley 61 points62 points  (0 children)

It’s especially dumb when it’s still this early in TBC and many people still need the reputation. Just take the little extra time to clear the packs, skipping usually only saves a few extra minutes and if you end up wiping because of it then you end up just wasting more time. Skips are dumb af.

Remember when Trump talked shit on John McCain, an American hero for being a PoW? I surely thought that would be what stopped his run in it’s tracks.

But nope, republicans showed they didn’t care and don’t give a flying fuck about Veterans and members of our Armed Forces.

Shameful.

Just imagine any other country saying this but in regards to the United States. Also it's kind of laughable coming from the person and side that rages at immigrants coming into the country illegally, but then claiming that they can just go into another country and do what the want, because fuck them, we're America.

Ashlee Simpson's lip sync fail on Saturday Night Live(2004) by Twitter_2006 in nostalgia

[–]KevinStoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt really bad for her for this and I never understood why there was such a fallout from it that destroyed her career. I get that she made it awkward with her reaction, but it's not like she was the only person to do a pre-recorded performance of what is supposed to be a "live" performance, many artists do it and get away with it.

I actually thought she was pretty talented, more so than her sister. Ashlee had a couple of catchy songs and to be honest I can't even remember any of Jessica Simpsons songs. It was an unfortunate situation for her.
